At the same time The Spinners made a great hit ( Workin' my way back to you /love you for a Long time ) which was also a rerecording number of the 4 seasons.
I love the song, but I didn't recall having seen this video - it's very cute! Then I remembered, the summer of 1980 when this song was a hit, wasn't the BBC involved in some kind of industrial action, so "TOTP" wasn't on for a while - can someone remind me? (I live in the US now)
Despues de 31 años pude conocerles la cara a Los Dardos (1980) con la mejor versión de "Vamos a aguantarnos" entre las otras de Las 4 Estaciones (1965) y la de Barry Manilow (1982). Gracias por incluirla.
One of the best ever songs they did - this excellent cover of a 1960's 4-Seasons song brings those memories from one of the best years of my life back!!
The Darts were a very talented, slick outfit and they did great pastiches of earlier tunes..and did serious justice to them.
Tney also wrote a few good songs, but like so many similar acts, there's only so much mileage in being a "covers," band that stays in the charts once the novelty wears off.
I fear much the same will befall the Overtones.
Mind you, much of Oasis's output sounded like Beatles covers! :O)
Barry Manilow or the 4 Seasons get on your bike and ask them why did you steal your song ha ha ha ahalj Im sure you didnt mind they must have asked your permission. I think its the 4 Seasons to thank for this they must have been the original to make this song.
I was 14 when I bought this version, then I discovered Barry Manilow and subsequently his version a few years after this (also knowing via my mum the 4 seasons original) What a find! Thank you x
is this david tennents dad..lol..looks a bit like him..great tune though..them were the days...lol

What a cheesy 80's classic! I only knew the Barry Manilow version before (from my mum!), but this is fab!
