  • Why are you using the same brush for each application. :(

Primers work much like a moisturizer by the way...

  • you have perfect skin without the foundation.... lucky lucky you ...:'(

  • Was wondering if I needed this product or not and now I know I don't. Thanks!

  • what sunscreen do u use?

  • I know most foundations come off on clothes and who wants to be cuddling and see white on their mans jacket lol so does the Hyperreal foundation or Satinfinsh, come off easily or on clothing?

    Thanks!!!

  • i think it is streaking because you used the same brush

  • use a different brush for the bronzer you derp

  • You just are fucking stupid , no guru in you

  • You can tell the top comment person works for mac xD

  • why dont you use both hands to make it quicker

  • Prep and Prime not meant to absorb into your skin, that's the point of it, it sits on the skin and fills in flaws and imperfections, and forming a smooth canvas for foundation application. powder doesn't apply well over a silicone based primer. The more you try and rub it in the less effective it is.

  • maybe use a blusher/bronzer brush for bronzer...

  • Great video ..I heard that Primer was not supposed to absorb into skin but remain a barrier for your moisturizer and foundation....maybe thats why it still remained on your hands...if so ...then thats a good thing!! good job! xo

  • I found that it does all that to me too...... And I tried applying it all different ways and it still did the the same thing.

  • you used a LOT of it... i mean a pea size amount is enough for you hole face.

  • You didn't set your foundation.

  • i didnt like it! personally it made my skin oily? but i dont know maybe i use to much or something?!

  • Your skin is beautiful i don´t think that you need any Foundation

  • use a different brush for bronzer, then it wont streak. :)

  • 1. Set your foundation.

    2. Use a different brush for your bronzer.

  • what's the song called?

  • @blueymakeupgirl

What i do if i hear a song i don't know i type like, a line of the lyrics i hear into google and then "lyrics".

So like i would type into google: "i'm not hear for your entertainment, you don't really wanna mess with me tonight" lyrics

    and it would come up with the song! {U+Ur Hand by PINK}

..Though i knew this one soon as i heard it :)

  • @LetsMakeUp21 thanks i knew it was pink but not the song :)

  • @blueymakeupgirl Pink - you and your hand

  • i love to watch ur videos. your so adorable (:

does anybody know if this is okay for dry skin ?

  • So, which would be the best eyeshadow base for you?

  • hey guys please add my new channel its baileighheartsmakeup(:

  • whatever

  • i would totally have to agree with her.. i have used it and i kind of force myself to like it but i think my skin feels way better and looks way better without it :(.. it makes my skin greasy, not even a few hours later my make up is patchy, ugly looking, gross. one thing that i hate the most is that it has glitter.. like wth i totally hated it. i had heard many good things about it but didnt work for ME :(

  • Prep & Prime works great for me and I have oily skin. I'd agree with some of the other comments you should try using less primer, lightweight moisturizer. I at times even stick my face in front of the fan between steps and not use the same brush for all applications.

  • you should probably not use the same brush for everything.....the streaking was probably from the liquid left on the brush.......not because of the prep+prime

  • she was right mac prep+prime suck

  • i love this prep and prime. it's my favorite primer.

  • i love these videos! keep them coming please, haha! :]

  • ummm well duhh ur gonna get a sheer coverage with the 187 brush anyways..but anyways the primer is good i like it!

  • wow i use all the same things you use besides the prep and prime and my makeup all last all day

  • how much is it?

  • Girl i had the same results. and people are telling u not to apply moustorize(spelling wrong) but when i talked to mac artist they said thats important. so i just dont think it's a good product. im glad it's not just me! :)

  • your suppose to set foundation before apply other powders! you apply foundation then powdered bronzer to your cheeks!

  • hahah, I can tell what school you go to just by the duck pond :P Go Lobos!

  • you also didnt even use a setting powder...

  • i would try using different brushes for the foundation, bronzer, and mineralize skinfinish :)

  • What strobe cream? What is that lotion at the beginning?

  • you should wait for about 4 minutes in the morning I usa a mousterizer and the prep+prime so I wait a little longer, while waiting for them to get I eat breakfast! hope i helped

  • you should wait for about 4 minutes in the morning I usa a mousterizer and the prep+prime so I wait a little longer, while waiting for them to get I eat breakfast! hope i helped

  • shes got really nice skin

  • ur supposed to let it soak in for 5 minutes ...

  • great review!!! I admit that i am not 100% satisfied w/ this product also. I feel that it helps more by reducing the oils tho. but i felt that my makeup was still melting away even w/ the primer..

  • So how long does Mac foundation usually last? And whats the best way to go about getting the right color for my skin tone?

  • 1 side is darker than the other

  • I think you need less product, waiting 10mins is a must. I use mineral makeup instead of liquid foundation over this- it stays perfectly and my mineral and blush application is so much smoother with this! I have quite oily skin and I only have to check once during the day with this on, as opposed to every hour or so! I did put a finishing veil over the top also. Maybe it seals it and fuses everything together?

Hard to please in this area of makeup, but thought this primer was brilliant

  • jus like the other comments say....have u tried using less ? the mac mua told me to use like half a pump an its really workd for me as oily as i get !

  • i think it wore out because of the liquid foundation. i just purchased it and i usually wear liquid but the consultant just put that and the mineralize skinfinish natural and it was really nice like the whole day. and im normally always use a liquid then finish with a powder. i love it.

  • Does anyone here noticed that MAC's Prep + Prime is actually shimmery when you squrt it out of the bottle..?

I find that it is shimmery and because of that I was put off and did not buy it. I have combination skin so I'm afraid the shimmer will accentuate the oils on my face.

  • the reason it's shimmery is because it will give your skin a natural glow.. ive been using it and i love it.

  • at 2:02

  • Beautiful Liar by Beyonce & Shakira

  • what song?

  • I hate Prep & Prime, my foundation just slid off,I've tried a few different kinds and find Benefit Dr Feel Good best for me.

  • your eyebrows look lovelyyyyy in this video

  • My Prep+Prime Is Never Oily, And Usually Soaks into my skin Immediatly, I suggest NOT Moisturizing before applying the prep+prime, Using A Foundation Brush to apply & Using less of the Product.

I would have also Changed Brushes Before applying the Bronzer, Don't think it would streak Then... =]

  • What did you apply before the prep and prime? The one you use every morning? I watched it like 5 times and still couldn't catch the name?? Thanks!

  • She used Strobe Cream from M.A.C

  • Strobe Lotion from MAC

  • the reason you experienced streaking was because you used the same brush as you did with your foundation, and that got some of the silicone from the primer on it. You also used a little too much

  • what are other options for face primers???? because I still have a chance of returning mine back to MAC and maybe gettting another brand, I just bought it.

  • You put too much on and it should've been put on with a foundation brush, not the fingers. I use the one with SPF and also don't moisturize my face prior to putting it on. I don't notice my makeup wearing off or having to even blot nearly as much as all of my oil and shine remains contained. Try a different technique, maybe you'll have better results next time.

  • i used to think the same of the primer...but guess what u used too much really! half f that is enough...not trying to be mean just so u can give it another try.

  • Wow, surprising! Thanks for doing that experiment. Love watching your videos!

  • PS- I would kill to have cheekbones like yours! :-)

  • me too!

  • Thank you! After watching this, I have decided I'll save the crazy amount I would have payed to buy the MAc prep and prime and just stick to my basic, usual foundation application routine.

  • i have a question are you suppose to get a pump when you buy your foundation or are you suppose to buy it separetly....?? cause i bought my foundation yesturday but it didnt come with a pump...can someone tell me plz!!!!!!!

  • Foundations do not come with a pump, except the Mineralize foundation! You have to buy the pump separate. It only cost 4 bucks at MAC.

  • You have to buy the mac pumps separately. You can buy them from any mac store or counter and it will cost a couple of pounds/dollers

  • You have to buy the pump separetly with MAC.

  • If you dont like it n it seems to annoy you so much....why are you watching it AND spening time to comment?.....a bit worthless dont you think.

  • ... coz well... i THOUGHT this wud be amuzing ... but i was sadly mistaken...

  • are you suppost to wear a moisturizer under the prep+prime or no?

  • i just bought this at mac last weekend and was told to use moisturizer under it

  • I apply the prep and prime with a large brush in a very thin coat. And let it dry for about 5 minutes. when applied this way, it works great. Better than The Supernatual by philosophy.

  • what do you think about MAC prep + prime for the eyes??

  • There are primers specifically for the eyes. I use Prime Time by Bare Escentuals. It works well.

  • where are you from? your very pretty

  • america lol

  • not u

  • by the video accent....clearly american

  • You have nice skin:)

  • i love how you did your eyes.. it looks very pretty <3

  • what does a highlighter do?

  • Highlighter is used to pop out certain areas on your face..such as the bridge of your nose, underneath your eyes, your cheeks..etc etc.

Theres highlight for the eyes which would be any skinned toned or whitish eyeshadow, these gives an instant lift to your eyes...basically makes your whole eye look drastically awake, also dresses up your other shadows.

  • I thought you were supposed to use just a tiny bit?

  • You're right, you are - LOL - it's also not for use on the lips or near the lip area.

  • love this!!!

  • you are BEAUTIFUL ! this is a great look for you ! even though the video is old lol

  • Is this kinda like the smashbox primer? I know it's not the same consistency but does it do the same thing?

  • Just found you videos. This is very helpful to me, thanks a lot !!!

  • do u still use it??? because i mean 22 dollars 4 something that doesnt work!!! so do u still use it to not waste it or did u like give if 2 1 of ur friends or something???

  • why is that prep and prime bigger than the regular?

  • i love prep and prime, but i apply it differently(using mac 187 brush) and i use pressed powder to set my foundation before applying bronser. xx

  • does the prep+prime work good for you? I just bought it. =)

  • honestly, i've found that l'oreal studio secrets prep is far far better! the mac prep works okay but as time goes on it made my skin oily :( but i realllly hope it works for you! xxx

  • It made my skin oily too, and I had bought it b/c the MAC sales lady told me that it would help oily skin stay matte. By mid day my skin looked oily. I agree w/ the thumbs down.

  • Try using MAC's oil control lotion underneath your primer. Dont moisturize if your using prep and prime.

  • Well if the worst complaint you have is it leaves your hands greasy, that's easy- Wipe them off. ;)

  • Hey, i'm really interested to know what kind of Primer do you use that works really well for you???

  • Do you set your foundation with a pressed powder?

  • I have Prep+Prime and I personally like it.

I have normal skin though, so that might be why it works on me.

I would suggest that you put it on with a sponge or clean foundation brush. It's less streaky this way than with fingers. (Fingers make things streaky anywho.)

Also, allow it to soak into the skin, like you would moisturizer.

This might help some of you. :)

  • what do you mean by streaky?

  • She's right. If you use your fingers, it will make it streaky.

  • ok i dont doubt that she is right, i was just asking what streaky means.

  • hiya i clean my brushes with just normal hair conditioner its great

  • i recently bought prep + prime and have used it a few times. i noticed that my foundation is different when i put it on. it's lighter, so i'm assuming that the foundation (studiotech) isn't staying on my skin because the prep + prime is so smooth. bottomline, my foundation looks so much better without it.

  • i agree with Gemenis0530, sho us your amazing makeup!

  • what's the song at the beginning of the video?

    someone please reply/??

  • you and your hand by pink. i think that's the song you're talking about :) hope i helped

  • IDK why, but she reminds me of Bridget from The Girls Next Door

  • OMG she does!!

  • i noticed that too. i think they have the exact same voice! and way of speaking.

  • You're great! this was very, very helpful. It's so hard to find straightforward pros and cons of a product like this. Thanks!

  • Julie can you show us all of your make up ?? i think you have a lot lol would love to see all of your stuff :-)

  • i thought that the strobe cream was a primer???

  • I on occasion use it as one when I can't find my real one. I don't see why it can't be used as a primer/moisturizer.

  • definately still gonna try it, expectially because the blemish thing

  • yay were both awesome!

  • I am debating if I should get this

  • She reminds me of Bridget, from The Girls Next Door.

Doesn't matter, I love both of them.

  • sometimes she looks a tiny bit like heather from americas next top model season 9 lol

  • do u speak spanish?

    i ask 1st

cuz i heard the music in spanish!!haha

second u look like it!! plz answer!! =D

  • I really love all of your experiment/review videos! They're so helpful and fun to watch.

  • Yep I only used mine like two or three times.. didnt work 4 me either.. Thanx 4 being honest.. xoxo.

  • What song is that???

    its sooooooo cool.

  • U and UR HAND by PINK

  • thats so expensive! : o

but the bumps did dry out right?

  • You are beautiful! I love you and your makeup experiments!

  • Love that purple wall! LOL

  • Hey i wanted to know what Primer would you suggest to use for your face & eye?

  • I LOVE YOU, Julie!!! You are one of, what I consider, my make up gurus!

  • great video! its very helpful because i almost bought it lol...i wondered if you could give some info on MAC foundation...i have oily skin, i wondered if it would be a good choice?? thanx!

  • What primer would you recommend? I have the MAC pre & prime and you're right..by the end of the day it has faded.

  • i just barely got the prep and prime today.

and i think im gonna go back and exchange it. doesnt look too good. and nice video.

  • so is there a primer you would recommend instead?

  • is there any product you recommend that will keep the foundation ona ll day? after about 5 hours of having my foundation on it starts comming off on my cheeks(i use the same one you have) so if theres anything i can do to keep it on i would love to know thanks=)

  • Im so glad I watched this!! I'm on a budget and was planning on purchasing this on Friday!!! You Rock as always!!!! Thanks!!!

  • i heart your experiments!! keep up the good work

  • I agree w/ your verdict - it's glitery and greasy. :S

  • I used it and I hated it too! It was like crazy glittery and really didn't do anything for me either.

  • I have a question what is your skin type?

  • Comment removed

  • Would you say that the "smashbox" primer is better than this one?

  • oh, i have the smashbox primer...

i have combination skin and it kinda sucks haha, my makeup's still gone by the end of the day.

  • u don't need makeup..ur pretty with and without..u have very flawless skin..

  • For oily skin I am loving the Everyday Minerals Start to Finish Powder. It has Kaolin clay so that absorbs oil quite well and helps to keep the makeup from sliding off.

  • wut song is that?

  • glad i didnt spend my money on this! i use clinique pore minimizer instant perfector- this stuff is amazing!!!

  • I don't have perfect skin so Prep+Prime gives a smoother surface for foundation. When I use a liquid foundation I apply a tinted moisturizer under it.

I do believe P+P contributed to excess dryness this winter but I can't be sure because it's colder than last year.

  • OMG how do you have no pimples or whatever?!

  • hey i just brought this product 2 wks ago and i use it with studio fix which so far i think it work as far as staying in place but i have oily skin so i think during the middle of the day when i start to shine it looks like i shine more jus a little since using this product i brought it b/c i hate to reaply . good video .

  • I have oily skin to too and MAC's Prep & Prime is the only thing that saves my foundation. I use 1 part P&P to 1 part Strobe Cream, mix it and let it soak in while I do my hair (15mins) and it has really helped my Studio Fix stay in place. I felt like the Studio Fix would really move around my face (because of my really oily skin) before P&P and ever since I started using it, my Studio Fix doesn't move around at all. I really like P&P and will continue to use it.

  • I used prep+prime and it made my skin greasy and and my rosacea on my cheeks really bad. I feel I spent the money on product when I could have bought some super cute eye shadows. :)

  • then just return it. ANYTIME you buy a product you aren't familiar with, keep the receipt! i work for a MAC at a macy's and we can return without a box or receipt, but the stores i believe you need a receipt. at macy's you'd just exchange it for something else if you don't have either.

lots of people waste so much money buying things they don't like, thinking they can't take it back once you try it. it's YOUR money, so exchange it for something you will use.

  • Thanks for the advice. I will keep that for furture reference!

  • Hi..thatsmyjammbox...im asking u cause i c that u work for MAC...i have really really really oily skin and i bought the regular prep&prime and the oil control do u think that i made a good purchase??if so..which one do i use first...sorry im asking u...i was in a hurry so i didn't ask the sales girl :)

  • i am oily too. if you were to use the the two products you would use your oil control lotion first b/c it's your moisturizer, then use the prep 'n prime to seal the deal.

however there is a really awesome product you might wanna consider. if you've never heard of it, it's called MAC Matte. it's in a little tube. i noticed that it really helps minimize oil on my face and the texture is very light-nothing too heavy.

i would ask for a sample of it when you go back. :)

  • Thank you soo much..i will definitely try the MAC matte...hey u should do videos...i have a feeling that their gonna b very interesting and entertaining :)

  • it's no problem! hey if you have any other questions or are curious on any products let me know. i'd love to help. i wanna get a camera to make videos myself. what kind do you have? i'd love to do it, if i had one.

oh and i love your videos. you do a really great job, your very pretty, and just are very friendly in each one. i had to subscribe!

  • lol..no girl..im not the girl on the video..im just another fan...but the reason i asked u..its because i came across ur comment.. u seem to know ur MAC stuff...Well anyways im gonna have to subscribe too,her videos r so helpful..and i heard the cameras r not that expensive just shop around to c which one u like the best...well sorry u thought i was her :)

  • ahh i'm sorry! i'm so drugged up on cold medicine i'm crazy!

  • lol..its ok :)

  • Do you have the Make Up For Ever primer? If you do can you make a versus video between it and Prep & Prime? :]

  • so do you think that pepole that have dry skin can use it ? because i have eczema and its hade for me to fine some thing to use under my makeup.....
