Great video great family tradition in Georgia it grows in Oak trees most of the time way high in the trees but in the last ten years i have noticed it in the miniature trees. I always thought it only grew on Apple trees, In England most our Mistletoe comes from Kent as that is where most our apple orchards are = )

@TheFullmoonslight I've come to realize that mistletoe grows on all sorts of trees but it really depends on each region as far as which trees it prefers. Here, in Southern California, I only see it in sycamores, though, supposedly in grows in oaks, too. Thank you for the report of growing on apple trees. That's fascinating news to me.

@Amnas2011 Thank you and thank you for the vote of confidence. We brought pepper spray in case of cougar attack. But these big cats generally stay away from large parties (3 or more).. Even then, we're prepared to throw rocks and make a lot of noise just in case. Pepper spray in case it's a hungry, aggressive cat. But yes, keep the kids close and beware of cats, rattlesnakes, etc. Take it seriously. Thanks again!

@celtichero9 Thank you for your input : ) I have been throughout Southern California and I've only seen it growing in sycamore trees... that I can remember at least. I know what oak trees are as I see them all of the time. In fact, in Southern Cal, oak trees and sycamore trees often grow in the same areas including in the area of the video. I'm not saying mistletoe doesn't grow in oaks (as I know it does), I'm just saying I haven't seen it. Maybe more N. Cal or other areas? Thanks again!

Aw Link, this is just so cool. Your kids remind me of growing up w my 5 siblings. Your kids are so beautiful & really into the mistletoe gathering. What a great thing to do w them. Your littlest guy is just waaay too cute, the way he amble right along. LOVE the scene where 2 of them r hosting the other up into the tree their palms. All reminds me of growing up.
