  • ahh i was gonna buy a bind it all but i am not now lol thankyou so much for this fab money saving idea xx

  • @kerrydenyer So happy I could help you out and save you some money......more paper you can buy, lol.

  • I really enjoy/love your videos... gorgeous projects and great tutorials :-)

  • Have you ever tried making your own binding wire/rings - been trying to search that on the internet - but cant seem to find anything. My rudimentary method is to wind wire around a dowel pin - but it doesnt wind uniformly! I just love the sound of your voice - so soothing!

  • @candipill Thank you for commenting. No I haven't tried to make my own rings.

I know my one girlfriend did years ago and she did exactly what you did, she wound wire around a dowel.

  • Thank you so much Tracy! I just bought my very first pink handled crop-a-dile (with a 40% off coupon, lol) and I am so excited, I will be putting that bad boy to use! Have a great day :) ~Barbara

  • @ydontucreate So happy this tutorial helped you.

    I never go into Michael's without a coupon ;)

  • Thanks so much. I'm always looking for ways not to get unnecessary equipment and I knew I had tools already that could do the same job.

  • @islandgirl75 Thank you for commenting :) I agree there are so many tools out there, might as well use the ones we have to get as many uses as we can out of them :)

  • Great idea Tracy. I would love to buy a binder machine but I won't at the moment. I don't have a Big Bit or Crop-a-dile either, but I think I will manage anyway. these tools are a lot more expensive here in Australia.

Thanks for the idea, I will give it a try, hope you got some sleep after this, haha, Leah

  • @leahspaperpassion11 Thanks Leah. I love to find other uses for our tools. They are pricey.

  • I'm so glad I stumbled on you :) I almost placed a bid on a machine. I thought about this way but was still going to spend my money unnecessarily! Aughh!

  • @mrsgcb Well its always great to save yourself some money, then you can buy more paper ;)

  • @TracysTreasures24 Have you seen my stash? LOL Paper is my weekness but If I get anything this Summer to add to my 'stuff' it will have to be the binders. (Not sure what their called) I have to do something to use up the paper I have so i can buy more! ;0)

  • @mrsgcb Ohhhh me to. I keep saying thats it. No more buying paper until I use up more of what I have. But they keep making such pretty paper. Whats a girl to do, lol.

My SIL keep bugging me because I have so much paper it is taking over my room, lol.

  • I'm so glad I stumbled on you :) I almost placed a bid on a machine. I thought about this way but was still going to spend my money unnecessarily! Aughh!

  • Great tip. I have a Bind It All and love it, but you are right it can be expensive. The binding rings are a good value because you snip off what you want to use and there is no waste involved.

    Leslie

  • What a really good idea, I do not have a bind it all machine and I did not think I could use the spiral rings without it I am so pleased you did this demonstration TFS!

  • @janstok011 Happy to be of some help :)

  • Wow! What a great idea. I do not want to spend all that money right now. Even larger books are usually only bound in the center, so you don't have to punch too many holes. Thanks again.

  • Great tutoria Tracey. I have a bind it all, but not a cropadile and there are probably people that don't have either so I just wanted to give another suggestion for the holes. I made an art journal this way before I got my bind it all. You may have to use thinner chipboard or cereal box board instead, but just a simple hand held hole punch will work too. Hope that helps anyone who wants to make these and don't have these other tools yet.

  • Great project.

i love the rosette's on the frount of them.

could you maybe post a tutorial on how to make them please.

    thanks

    emily

  • Wonderful Tracy! So good of you to share this brilliant idea!...Nancy :o)

  • Thank you sooooooo much.....you just saved me money!!! Great idea, please keep them coming.

    Keep creating

    Becki

  • @becbec273 Yeahhhh. I love to not only save me money I love to help others save as well ;) Happy this helped you out.

  • Awww you so sweet! The idea of you wondering how to do this without the machine is cute! And what a great tip! :D I've seen how costly the Bind-It-All is and definately not cheap! So this will come in handy for sure!

    Thanks for the tip!

Now just need some rings, lol. XDD

  • @Shinozka Glad you can use this tip. Ya my mind doesn't stop creating, even in my sleep, lol.

Sorry can't help you with the rings, Never came up with a way to make those, lol.

  • Tracy, thanks for the video...My husband had the same idea! Great minds think alike!

  • @gloriascraps2 Oh Your husband must be one smart man, teehee.

  • Very cool, thank you sooooo much for coming up with this. :))

  • Thanks for the tip tracy i have been thinking of buying the cinch but short on cash right now so this tip is going to help me until i can get one thanks again Yolanda .

  • What an excellent idea Tracy! You ROCK my friend your such a sweetie! -Christine

  • This is a fantastic idea. I have been wanting to use tha kind of binding for some time now but because I don't have a binding machine of any kind I didn't think I could use them. I too am trying to use up what I have and use the machines I have this year but I think I will get some of the bindings and give it a try!

    Thank you for sharing.

  • Thanks you. Wonderful idea. Need to get some rings.

  • Very helpful! Thanks so much for sharing!

  • Very cool!! I don't have a bind it all or a cinch so this video was helpful. Thanks for sharing how to do this. :)

  • Yep I've been doing this binding this way for years because living in a small town the bind-it all-rings et all were not available. I buy dollar store note books and took the spiral bindings apart, made my own covers and punched as you say with a crop a dial. Depends on the project but sometimes I even just take the coil binding off, cover the album and put it back together. Good that you are sharing this.

  • @westernkate And here I thought I was a genius, lol.

Good idea about the spiral bindings. I can't get them here either. I have to drive 8 hours away to get them, so I stock up, teehee.

    Thanks for commenting.

  • Good tip! TFS! :D Vron

  • @eluniversoencantado Thank you for commenting :)

  • Great idea ....Thanks

  • @sugarcoated101 Thank you for commenting :)

  • What a great idea! You are one clever cookie!

  • @LindaLap Thanks Linda, I said I was clever once and it backfired, lol. My girls will never let me live that word down. Now when ever I do something not to bright they always tell me I so clever, teehee.

Thanks for your sweet comment .

  • Necessity has always been the mother of invention. Thanks for a very creative idea!

  • @maryjanew20 I agree. Thanks for commenting.

  • So thankfull Tracy, this is realy helpfull. I like so much to find non expensive way to scrap! .... Imagination power .... Yes!!! :o)

Martine From Brussels (so sorry for the bad english, ;o], )

  • @sayujya1 Your welcome Martine. Thank you for commenting, your English is perfect :)

  • Terrific idea Tracy! I also decided not to buy any more machines or craft items. I'm using what I have this year. So this video will really be a great idea to bind without the machine. I do have a Bind-it-All and I love it. But this does as good a job without the expense. TFS......

  • @MeriScrapper13 I noticed that many scrapbookers have taken the oath to spend less on supplies this year. I am just trying to use up some of my older products. The only thing is, I think I can go for a long time on just my scraps, teehee.

  • Great idea!! I'm about cutting costs! Everything is soooo much money now days, and by doing it this way, you have more money to buy paper, or paper, or paper or... well whatever else you may addicted too! :-) Thanks for sharing!!

  • @WhineSwine Paper is my weakness. Did you see my room tour, LOL. I didn't even show all my paper, its really bad or good which ever way you decide to look at it :)
