The old doctor in the plaid coat with the smoking pot at the table in the inn: I am quite sure he played the pawn shop owner in A Christmas Carol (the Alistair Sim version). When Scrooge looks into the future, he sees his servants pawning off his belongings, and the pawn shop owner makes them angry by giving them paltry sums of money for what they stole.
Anyone notice that Hammer uses the same actors in just about all of their films, just playing different parts? The one thing that never changed is that Christopher Lee always played the "hunted" and Peter Cushing was always the "hunter"... love it all just the same!
@cupcake101 there is, but for some reason it's been cut out. I remember seeing it on TV in both ways (with and without the scene), so...maybe for time's sake?
Doctor....:-You clericals with your monoLITHIC superstitions-(not belief's) and that peasant woman with her TROGLODYTE indifference ---never realized Hammer did COMEDY !!! He's a tonic himself that Doctor !!!
Nah I don't think it was Nyquil, I don't think it was around at the time ..maybe some hocus pocus remedy for stupidity.. evidently it didn't work. lol
Watching these great movies reminds me of staying up late to watch Z 17 out of Nashville, I think it was chiller theatre or something like that. Todays horror movies are really lacking compared to these classics. Nice to be reminded of it I hope some younger Saw generation horror fans see what a true masterpiece is.
Looks like some scenes got cut out between parts 6 and 7. I remember the Baron attacking the dark-haired girl at the academy, and Van Helsing dispatching the Baroness.

Love the disappointed look on Van Helsing's face when Marianne claims she loves the Baron. I think he had a thing for her too :)

@JoelandtheBots No, that`s wrong. Doc is only alarmed when the lass reveals the name of her groom. He is pleased to hear the news she is to marry.
valarmanwe 1 year ago
@JoelandtheBots More like him having a thing for the Baron as he was still calm when she said she was engaged to be married.

so why is the name 'dracula' used if neither dracula (christopher lee) appears and is not mentioned?
deadman00 3 years ago
the Baron von Hottie was a disciple of Dracula and as such carried on His bloodline
sheilatx 2 years ago 2
meh. its not as if he was turned by dracula himself though.
they just used the name dracula to get attention.

This type of horror film is where the characters should throw rationality and logic out of the window
