  • I've lost 60+ lbs JUST cutting out sugar. There are sugar alternatives that will help you not be deprived! I make all kinds of delicious treats and baked goods. There is NO MORE EXCUSE for consuming copious amounts of sugar. Some say sugar is fine and natural. Then why does it become off limits when diabetes strikes? Better listen up people!

  • This is so funny. The Starbucks in Japan, Tall is the large size. The only people I've EVER seen walking around with a Grande are foreigners (American tourists or businessmen, usually) Most people get Short and Tall, I cannot even believe this... Grande is a MEDIUM? SICK! McDonald's too, The Small cup in the US is the Medium cup (and is what you get with a value meal), but even that is too much! sick sick sick

  • It's wheat that should be demonized. Even whole wheat bread and all-bran cereal raise your blood glucose more than sugar. Fiber does nothing to slow it.

  • I'm so happy I'm diabetic - best thing that ever happened to me. I'm completely off sugar and all "white" processed food and have lost weight that I never lost eating "fat free" (a total myth) before I went very low carb.

  • your videos are all splendid. The real reason people crave and binge on sugar is that our body needs carbs and a full glycogen tank or it gets moody and run down. So we should eat more rice and sweet potatoes, or better yet, bananas and figs. We ought to consume way more fruit than we do. I had no idea how much sugar was in these things. wow that blows my mind, too much fructose

  • @peacewalker7 Actually, if everyone adopted a very low-carb diabetic diet, we'd all be in fabulous health. Rice and potatoes are VERY high in carbs, even though they are natural carbs.

    by Robert H. Lustig MD, Division of Endrocrinology and Metabolism...for a deep and amazing scientific and clear presentation of what the dangers of Fructose are....

    Fructose is the enemy...as the body does not need this "sugar" as an element for survival as it is non naturally occurring sugar in its pure state.

    As a result the body responds to this element as a toxin...or more specifically the liver sees it as toxic!

  • Very informative video. Made me very aware of what I was doing to myself. Immediately went into my refrig, and threw away 12 6 oz cups of the Yoplait I had in there. Threw away the entire keylime pie I just bought. Dumped all the diet and non diet soda and fruit drinks. You were very costly in the short run, but probably saved me thousands of times that amount over the long run. Thanks!

  • @jetsonjoe glucose is a monosaccharide that partially makes up table sugar (which is a disaccharide of glucose and fructose). Glucose is necessary for us to have energy throughout the day. The items she shows have white processed sugar in them, so while they do provide the glucose you need, it's compounded with fructose, which as you pointed out really is the enemy. High consumption of fructose (easy to do w/ HFCS) can lead to liver problems.

  • @ayumihamasaki123 just go to a lookup table of English/METric online. I have come to believe that there are those who feed us could care less as long as the junk can be sold. There is very little good food, whether made at home, burgers, or carryouts that can be had from anywhere. When our food supply is in perilous condition by hybrids & the state seizes control on non-hybrid food plants what are you to do? Non hybrids can be used yearly; hybrids once. Diabetics like me are in peril.

  • the only time you should take in sugar is in a coffee in the morning, and if you train to the point you are glycogen depleted even if you have almost 0 sugar in your body, your body only needs 1 thats right 1 teaspoon of sugar , coke has 50 if you have more then 1 teaspoon in your blood, thats when your body sends out a lot of insulin

    get your energy from fruits vegies and pastas ect

  • Anyone worried about sugar should read the labels on their foods. Read the label on a single serving yogurt. Note the grams of sugar and divide by serving size. That will tell you the relative amount of sugar in that yogurt. I think you will be surprised at how much sugar is added to low-fat yogurt.

  • wow that is alot os sugar but don't forget the flour (another carb) in those products which raises the carb count even higher a carb intake that is nutrientless. flour is a sugar too. it hass been stripped of any nutrients which would lower the gi and up the quality. okay occassionally but not to be a staple no doubt.

  • sugar is not the problem how quick it gets into your blood is the problem. sugar is strong reducer (oxidative) creating massive amounts of free radicals if excessive in blood. fructose is 10x reducer. also your body uses stored nutrients to deal with these excess empty caloires. if excessive it sticks to everything causing oxidation basically frying your cells, look at onions after you fry them and they carmelize (turn brown). that is oxidation of sugar. malnutrition causes metabolic syndrome.

No wonder there are so many unhealthy people in the U.S. With a failing healthcare system, it is very important that we all take the best care of ourselves as possible and this includes eating healthier. There is so much poison being disguised as food and creating so many health problems for millions. The manufacturers only care about one thing and that's money, not our health. That's our job.

  • That was excellent. And to think stevia is packed with loads of nutrition and is actually sweeter than sugar, but the FDA fought us having it tooth and nail. I brought it to work once and people seemed to like it. I don't think they knew they were putting something nutritious in their coffee.

  • Hey Natalie. Why don't you tell people how white sugar destroys your body by making the body produce more toxicity. Am I correct that whatever we eat, automatically produces free radicals. By eating more and a lot, those who do that, age a lot faster because body produces more toxicity as a by-product. What we need to focus on more is not biologic interaction on how food affects us, but on a molecular level. The chemistry of what we eat and how it changes us and what to do to stay young longer

  • You cannot compare refined sugars to whole sugars. Fruit sugar, real maple syrup, and agave nectar are all examples of "good" sugars. Heck, even raw sugarcane is good before it is stripped of its nutrients. However, all sugars must be kept in moderation because all sugars create glycogen in your liver. Its basically about the QUALITY of sugar you are eating. White sugar, brown sugar, molasses, High Fructose CS, CS, sucrose, or any refined sugar are "bad" sugars.
