  • valerieeeeeeeeeeeeeeee call on me :)

  • What keyboards are you using here?

  • Very nice - I'd love to know what chords you used - I'm baffled trying to work them out from the song.

  • @seventhwave87 Search ultimateguitar for chords. There are several extended chords I doubt I transcribed accurately for the song anyway.

  • 3rd time - still sounds great! And still figuring out how 'ya do it! Tks very much. CFN

  • Polysmart - thanks for explaining how you do it! However, I'm none the wiser as I'm not a musician - ecept for the time I played a Hofner violin Bass like Paul McCarthney's - back in '64, when i had my own local band, "The Gi-T-Ups. I would be interested in hearing what Vocaloid 3 sound like when it's up and runing. Tks for taking the time to answer my questions. CFN. PS - I'm gonna listen to you again!

  • @peanutzinuk

This set here: smartech.bandcamp.com/album/10-reasons has a few other examples of generated lyrics (especially Telephone), in case you are interested.

  • Polysmart - had to look @ you vid a 2nd time. Again - awesome! Not knowing anything of the technicalities, were words/phrases assigned to each keys(s)? Great sound. Tks for uploading this great song.

  • @peanutzinuk Thanks for your kind comments. The synthesized singing is not done in real time. I couldn't get Vocaloid to play phonemes in real-time, and the program is overall rather slow. Instead I rendered the voice as a wav file and played it synchronously with the other instrumentation. I haven't used it in a while since it only runs in Windows XP. I hope Vocaloid 3 will support real-time performance features when it comes out.

  • WOOOOW! I'm overawed! I have been backing a lot of groups over the years, but to see & hear what you do. . .awesome! I liked the xtra sounds you got out. . .go on - -how did you get the polython/robbie robot words? I'm interested in the technicalities. All I can say is thanks for a great performance of a great song. Tks.

  • That's awesome man. Thanks

  • this is pretty awesome!~

  • vocals are half wall-e and half stephen hawking, but overall sounds good!

  • Sounds like GLaDOS !

  • I love the vocals and automated keys during the solo. Nice work

  • solo ftw!

  • That was ... awesome! I love the way you add a number of ambient effects throughout the song, while you take Winwood's instrumental tones and embellish them with something new. I bet Steve Winwood is proud to see someone emulate his work this way. At least he should be.

  • @equesfuscus Thanks. This is what I managed to achieve given Reason's limitations.

  • @polysmart I gotta say that I'd actually be ready to download an MP3 of this and listen to it. I better check out what else you've done. I could really be missing out.

  • @equesfuscus I have a couple of links on my profile page.

  • @equesfuscus ....Most Xcellent....nicely done !!........u done good !!

  • Man, I am diggin' this so hard! I love the sounds you managed to score. Pretty damn close, but nicely not quite there. Love the solo too. A little different beat and arrangement, and this could be a really hot French-house re-imagining!

  • @CMo241 Thanks!

  • Lyrics need work, but it's not about about the lyrics. You are super tight on the keyboards.. Bad ass.

  • very good job, but i prefer the original ;)

  • Absolutely awesome. I am subscribing.

  • I took your music and put in my mp3!!!

  • That solo IS awesome mate! I honestly prefer this to both Steve Winwood versions; being fussy I'd like some massive crash cymbals in places, but otherwise it's fantastic! YEAH!!

  • I prefer the vocals on this to the original.

  • Absolutely awesome job.

I so wish I could play the piano like that.

  • @jeffemir Set your standards higher, like Herbie Hancock for example :)

  • I just want to say that i am an extreme fan of this song. classic hit.

I know you don't know me in person, but I am a strong music critic, and I want you to take this compliment from me. Absolutely fantastic job with the solo, you tweaked it to the right sound to make it your own. I absolutely cannot get enough of this solo. Great Job.

  • @zergling333 thanks!

  • I thought this video was gonna suck but it didnt and it ended up being good enough to watch a second time.

  • You should also try recording a cover of the 1987 version with added drums, tambourine and sync effects.

  • Robot love!

  • not bad

  • Different but funny...Italovibe.

  • Very Very Nice Job!!!! Congratulations!!!!

  • AWESOME!!! And you made it sing-a-long friendly! Now I feel like singing this for karaoke!

  • Possibly better than the original. :)

  • not quite, but thanks.

  • That Vocaloid gives it a Buggles kinda feel. I dig it, anyway.

  • @polysmart I reckon it's better than the original, would be just an average pants cover without the vocals, but the vocals totally make it.

  • hah! awesome!

  • Thanks man. I try.
