Since this was Disney's first direct-to-VHS in May 1994, it was only developed over a period of 6-8 months during August/September 1993 and April 1994 by their T.V. animation department. Aladdin's production was a full 2-2 1/2 years from 1990-1992, using much better studios. They definitely utilized more budget for Lion King's sequels than Aladdin's for some reason.
