When you use the magic wand tool, it selects all different sections on my picture. Is there anything that I have to adjust to get it to select the way it did the guitar?

you dont have to adjust anything. if your background of the picture is in many colors, you should use the selection tool or lasso tool, and then just select . if your background is one colored it should be fine. hope i helped!!!
