  • This song was really popular in 1968 when Bobby Kennedy was running for President. Brings me back to that time in Los Angeles and makes me nostalgic and a little sad.

  • Ha, ha Frye's Electronics = all kinds of awesome

  • Vancouver's going to beat you up and take your lunch money San Jose.

  • This song is cool! Great music :)

  • 1:50 During it's peak, a house of that sort would have sold for $890,000

  • SAN JOSE SHARKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @INDYMCC

  • very sweet video you have a beautiful family! Thank you for posting this video! :)

  • I Want To Move From San Jose To Los Angeles

  • have u tried google maps

  • My mom lived around there when this song was on the radio, "CHiPs" was on TV. She moved in '78. It's a different place now, that's for sure.

  • que niños mas guapos :)

  • i loved. it shows how such f+++ place really means... poor and creepy...

  • I grew up just north of there. My shout out to Richmond, Ca.!!!! Ken Kirk and the Kirk family, thanks for all the familial love.

  • Too bad the city grew up. Too bad the lyric doesn't work for "Do You Know the Way to San Luis Obispo?" ;-)

  • @scubawrestler I live in Templeton!!!

  • this is one of my uncle's favorite songs

  • this song is great! i played it in band class

  • i'll just pray that the big one releases its energy throughout Santa Clara county sparing the rest of Norcal and destroying its black hole

  • Yeah, leaving half the state with no economy and greater racial homogeneity...

  • San Jose is the one of most diverse cities in America and with a population of one million...really is the biggest 'bedroom' community in the nation.

Lots of old timers are from Italy, Mexico and Japan. They were the main immigrants until the mid 70's when the Vietnamese set their roots here. Now we have large numbers of Arabs, Indians, folks from the Eastern Block countries and a large Filippino/P.I./Asian population as well. If you like to eat everyday ethnic foods.....San Jose is tops!

  • @evelroy True, the diversity in San Jose is pretty amazing. The Japanese seem to be disappearing though...

  • lol that video is great! The wind turbines, the soundtrack.... dang... it shows a pretty cool and very nice side of America... smelling, feeling and tasting like AMERICA!

    :D Greetings from Greece.

  • Thanks for a great video. I grew up in Milpitas, which is just North of San Jose. I live in GA now, but miss the Bay Area terribly. This was a wonderful walk down memory lane. For those of you still there, NEVER LEAVE! Once you leave, it is almost impossible to come back because it is so expensive. BTW, I recgnize just about all of the pics, mostly 580 from Tracy to 680 through San Jose. Again, very well done.

  • If I had a decent job and a wife and some kids I wouldnt mind moving to San Jose, largely in part due to this song! I hear its a lovely place, never been that far north. Im stuck here in Dallas :( Any single women want to get married to a hard working Paralegal and move to San Jose? :) LOL

  • Yeah, a lot of it is now. I grew up there. I left almost 20 years ago. It's geographically huge and has wide range of socioeconomic groups. There are still many great areas/neighborhoods within, but it's too damn expensive.

Right on the border, against the Santa Cruz mountains you have Saratoga & Los Gatos which are beautiful but you have to be a Silicon Valley exec to afford them.

  • BOO FROM SAN JOSE

  • not anymore... san jose's technology now, damn silicon valley... but still love my city...

  • lol I live in silicon Valley and my step dad works with TellMe under Microsoft and my mom used to work for Microsoft lol definitely technology now. Go computer Capital :D

  • Someone one coming from Tracy and then hit 680 to San Jose?

  • Beautiful town, beautiful song.

    Is it expensive as Marin?

  • no its less expensive but way more rough.

  • were your parents from pampanga phil? just wondering...ok never mind.

  • I lived in San Jose from 1979-1998 and some of those pictures were from San Jose. They bring back good memories, but too expensive to live there now. Thanks for the great video.

  • this is not san jose. this looks more like scenes from a small town.

  • san jose, americas largest cow town.

  • no, it's america's largest suburb. I'm actually tryna get the fuck out, waaaay to expensive.

  • go sip lattes

  • i'll just pray that the big one releases its energy throughout Santa Clara county sparing the rest of Norcal and destroying its black hole

  • lol it is San Jose, none of the pics are from Downtown though, some are on the "way" to San Jose also

  • Never been there, but I know the song quite well and the video makes you want to go down there.

  • I lived in san jose frm' 1964 to 1972 it was nice back then! i live out of boise id now & i see the same thing happening here............... but hay! it's all good

thank you 4 the memorys ..........good song!

  • I grew up there, 60's/70's very near Westgate shopping center, Prospect & Saratoga Ave. Do you remember Saratoga Lanes ? It's gone now. There are still a few good areas but they're ultra pricey. Most of it is congested, gross & dirty. It's like LA now. I left 20 years ago.

  • Whats with the altamount pass?

  • I must agree. Good quality sound.

  • shit San Jose is expensive to live

  • I was born in san jose lol

  • Thanks for the work! Good quality sound!

  • Hey! I live in San Jose.

  • This video is lovely! Bravo!

  • Nice and Cool.
