y when i reach nearly 8500 AD all nations attack me while i am stronger and have 800 points and they strongest one have 700 :S after that i get crushed from all directions and my city states get killed and i lost my army :S any help ?

Civilization V is the first game in the series that I have owned. I got it on sale for only eleven dollars! This looks like it can help me out a lot with learning how to play :)

lol... one of the truly great PC game series, ever! I haven't played it since civ 4, but i must get this game and get back in the groove. Also, the best strategy IMO is to build cities, grow the economy, build up units (since it costs money to have a large military) and unleash hell!!!! lol....

Great tutorial...very informative. I've really only ever played the original Colonization since it came out and recently got the remake of it for Civ IV... and love the Civ engine. So I picked up Civ V and was VERY confused until this! Thank you so much.

And a side note...the voice of Ignatious Cheese from Escape from Monkey Island is fantastic as the narrator!

Note regarding terrain for cities: tundra and desert seem to have more of a chance to have Iron and, moreso, Oil, later on in the game - at least that's what seems to be true for most of my games.

You are such a nice guy! I played Civilization I when I was very little, and this is the first Civilization-game that I played in years. What I noticed: I just didn't get anything of it! The tutorial in the game is somewhat for players who played it before I think, because a lot isn't explained, like the turn-based gameplay. This will help me. Thanks!

Just a tip man, if the tutorial is for newbies, people that have never played it before. Just say it. Don't go saying this tutorial is for new players, players that never have played a civ game before etc etc. You are giving the same thing different names. Civilization 5 was hyped up to me and so I rushed out to get it. Boy did I stumbled. I'm came from the Total War, Age of Empire, Rise of Nations camp and this game was simply deep. Deep is good, if the included tutorial is good. Sadly, the tutorial in the game suck. Thank you for this very basic, but much needed intro to Civil 5. You are the man!

Are your graphics on really low because isn't the fog of war supposed to actually look like a fog in Civ 5?

The fog of war looks like clouds at the Low, Medium, and High settings. I prefer to set it to Minimal because it's clearer. Your fog of war setting has nothing to do with your other video settings.

@MisterCiv5 Alright, I thought so. And actually, looking at the video, it for some reason feels more like a fog of war. Whereas the fog/clouds don't look as restricting, this black "wall" really gives you the feeling of "Yes. Your knowledge is blocked to within this area. You know nothing of the outside world."

@MisterCiv5 I agree, its clearer, but if there is clouds, there somes points that are a bit shown, like somes mountains and big hils, thats an advantage too.

Those are also shown through the Minimal fog of war. The setting changes nothing except its appearance.

@MisterCiv5 so the fog of war doesnt change the processor speed i mean mines is .3 lower than the minimum requirements.... but if it really doenst change a thing i will activate it
