That's my theory, when Sith has nothing personal against You, then he (or she) is very hard to defeat. But when they let personal hatred control them, they starting to lose very quickly... as with Yoda. Dooku knew he's going to lose, that's why he managed to endanger Kenobi ans Skywalker, to make his escape.

Obi Wan has really fast reflexes, he becomes a greater Jedi Knight then Qui Gonn. Also he has a rage of anger when he stabbed Qui Gonn, which probably gave him a huge adrenaline rush, which makes him even stronger and faster and have sharper reflexes.

Here's something that bugged me for a while. Why is that Obi-Wan could defeat Maul, but he was pretty much Dooku's bitch both times they fought?

I believe that when He saw Qui-Gon struck with the sword he used anger to power himself. Like Siths use Anger to strengthen themselves, Jedi do not use anger, they dont use feelings atall, they use their minds to keep a cool head during battles. I believe Obi Wan used anger to aggressively attack Maul which probably confused and surprised Maul a bit? Also in the end he defeated Maul with a surprise attack so...
