and whats sad is most of the people getting sucked into these scams are stay at home moms...these people don't care that they are seeping money away from mothers that need to feed their children and are just trying to find a way to stay home with their children and still support themselves...makes me sick!
Nice job bringing such tactics to light. A lot of people, like myself, are looking for a system that they could earn a decent way of living without scamming people.
What is your solution to this? How are you able to teach others (newbies) how to earn money the right way online?
Whio cares about the Make Moneies niche any.more. Just a bunch of Hypers. With psychopatic traits. With a shoehorn in their arse. To tell the truth. Most salesletters are hyped up blanks. If you want to make money, build a busuiness. I am suprised the manipulative psychopathes lack self-belief in building something greater than a CPA bucket of shit business. And sell this concept, to other people.
The FTC won't pursue "Forced Continuity" programs to the fullest extent because... read the fine print on many of the Prescribed Drugs your Doctor puts you on. Many of them say there will be serious adverse effects if you stop the drug. Now THAT is "Forced Continuity" folks.
These sites do that as well. Yes, they're flogs, fictional stories, BUT about what? About someone who makes money on Google.
What's wrong with that?
2. I bought some how to make money DVD's back in 2005, promising that people who ordered them have gone on to make $100,000's (and they were from a very reputable online marketing company too)
Have I or anyone else made money from these DVD's? NO! But they opened the door to a whole new world for me and I'm sure a lot of others, and by acquiring other programs, lots of self education, trial and error, I've become a very successful internet marketer, making multiple Six Figures.
So were they a SCAM? I'm sure a lot of people looked at them that way, but they weren't for me. Although I didn't make a penny from them directly.
Ok, nothing is forced. People can cancel any time. If that's a scam, then every internet marketer who advertises a free giveaway and then has a "forced continuity" membership program, like:
4. How about all these info-mercials on TV like Jeff Paul, Shawn Casey, the real estate guys, that would make them all SCAMS too right?
I mean they're advertising that for $40 or $50 you can have a six figure business, and we all know that there are massive up sells in the end (using NLP by the way in all their marketing)
People need to be responsible, if they're not able to understand that they need to put time, effort, and dedication into their business, it's their fault.
FTC is a communist organization and their recent ruling that we all know about, is putting a lid on the free enterprise marketing system.
I'm not saying we need to lie and steal people's money.
But if we encourage the government to start telling us what we can or cannot say in our ads, to protect the stupid people from themselves, we're headed in the wrong direction.
I would not be surprised if this supposed "SCAM" was made by FTC them selves to get a iron grip over affiliate marketing to hinder people to earn money online.
Democrat, republic, commies... call it whatever you want guys, it's all the same SHIT hitting the fan - just a different flavor from the same source.
Ever heard the old saying, once bitten, twice shy?
Tactics like this ultimately hurt legitimate marketers due to customers being burned. Somone who has gotten ripped off ordering something online is less likely to order again in the future due to fear of getting taken advantage of again.
@videosuccess Ha ha, what a joke. You are obviously an affiliate marketer BUT why are you playing for the dark side. I was an affiliate marketer for many year, my site came up in Google above billion dollar businesses in the search results. Why did people click on my links to buy services - because it was much easier to buy the product from me rather than click through a maze of links from the big companies. Today the big companies have figured this out BUT give back to the users don't scam em!
How awful. The whole "newspaper" thing looked so real, but seemed too good. Thanks for highlighting this.
About those "comments" at 4:22, I thought they sounded familiar: I saw the exact same ones on a completely different site (a long time ago)!

What you don't is this guy kilstein is a scammer himself. A scammer trying to expose scams to make himself look good.

Here's a little tip for you newbies:

Somehow I knew before I even clicked on the link that it would be referring to flogs.
I agree though... These people have no integrity and give all internet marketers a bad name.

Harlan,
I respect you a lot as a copywriter and a marketer, but I completely disagree. And I disagree with all of the above comments.
Here's why:
1. A lot of copywriting, even for the most honest product, is hyped up, to get people to take action and pull out their wallet.

3. You brought up forced continuity issue.
Ok, nothing is forced. People can cancel any time. If that's a scam, then every internet marketer who advertises a free giveaway and then has a "forced continuity" membership program, like:
Frank Kern
Rich Shefren
Shawn Casey
and too many others to list here
They all fall in that boat right?

These guys are open about their continuity. They don't hide it in grey print at the bottom of a sales page. There's a difference.

Yeah, getting people to tell the truth makes them a bunch of commies. Right.

While copywriting is designed to appeal to the desires people have, they very rarely tell lies.
I was going to go inot cpa until I found, in a course, they teach you to blatantly lie to get the sale.
There's a big difference between the two.
