this dude was a joke of a president and he liked to use jokes to cover his many faux pas; some laughed, but too bad there wasnt a single joke he could use to keep us from a near depression and give people back their jobs; and to think, there are some who actually want him somebody like him back in office! somebody giv me a belt so i can whip some sense into 'em!

Ha ha! Makes the Queen sound like the diamond thief who appears in several Pink Panther movies. Or James Bond! Instead of "Bond, James Bond" we have "Elizabeth II, Queen Elizabeth II". That's funny.
and there we have it - most of what is wrong with America, and most of what is wrong with Britain. That the monarchy still exists is as insane as Bush getting voted in twice. Both nations will be better off when Bush and the monarchy are history.
But the monarchy is history, it's an important part of shaping the nation that we have today and bring enormous respect and financial benefit to our Country.
We tried being a Republic once and decided for the better to restore the monarchy, if it was disbanded again I have no doubt that the same would happen.
the other thing is I get most of my news off of NPR and BBC - everyone knows Fox News is a joke but its also a sad stmt on this country (US) that most of the intelligent people get their news from Jon Stewart on the Comedy Channel, simply because its actually the closest thing to the truth! Has anyone else noticed how Americans now seem to not want to think, they want to be told what a news story means and what to think about it? I mean, just give me the facts and Ill make up my own damn mind.
I guess first, he has his connections. It's convenient that Bush's brother was Gov. in the state that "won" him the election. There are also a lot of idiots who will believe anything. And honestly, people like that are everywhere, not just in the U.S. But the dummies who don't take the time to catch up on world/domestic affairs before voting? I guess they voted for the guy who claimed that the terrorists were out to kill us all! Scare tactic. Maybe that answers your question a little bit? :)

Too bad (for us) that the speech isn't the only thing he screwed up. We have ourselves to blame-it's not like we weren't warned.

I can't think of a greater
honor or anyone other than
our great President, George Bush,
to attend this event with
the Queen of England. Thank
you, George Bush for representing
the American people...at our best.

Which former U.S. president is related to Queen Elizabeth II?
George Bush, president of the United States from 1988-1992, is a 13th cousin twice-removed from Queen Elizabeth II of England.
