  • sublime !! :D :D :D :D

  • work on stability and a much much more complicated gearing system to get the correct rpm and you might have a chance at actualy getting anywhere with this.. but the way it is.. where it takes tyhree guys.. and ghoes 30cm up is a joke.. im sorry but it is.. it shows nothing really.

  • nice

  • Check us out guys, Parabounce, human powered flight, no motor, no fuel!!!!

  • Totally Bizarre!

  • where can I buy this copter?

  • This gives you an idea about how easy electric motors could power a small helicopter. I think lightweight electric is the way forward to cheap affordable aircraft. If they were mass produced it would be cheaper.

  • would work if u managed to make 2 sets of pedals (one for hands one for legs) with a chain each, one chain pushes clockwise from the front and the other pushes clockwise from the back

  • we can do this if we work together. advanced adjustable gearing

  • Yes i would go to space with that.

  • Did he died? ya im bringin it back.

  • The guy at 1:07 looks suspicious!!!! probably saying "the Chinese did it again" lol

  • I dont think that guy holding the trailing edge was helping the efort. He probably thought he was helping somehow, but that could have been introducing an imbalance and slowing down the rotation. I dont think a human powerd helicopter could get out of ground effect though. Still super cool.

  • And this remains the one and only time Mott Gym has ever been swept.

  • I dunno, didn't look very controlled. There were a few that got in the air before the Wright brothers, but the control was the key.. Therefore... This is fail.

  • BS. I say if there are two other guys stabilizing it, it isn't a single human-powered, but 3-human powered attempt.

  • @dkw12002 stabilizing isnt powering you motherfucking dumb cunt

  • That is awesome!

  • amazing!! ***** five stars. It will be done one day. Unlocking human potential is a learning curve that takes eons. We can do so much more than we know. It really helps to not know you can't do a thing. I'm sad for those who think only M I T engineers invent and discover things. Although this was college people, lots of other people in this world experiment with science and make discoveries.

  • Which mechanism does he drive???

  • breaking my balls

  • its only just 108 years since the wright flyers desinged the first machien that sflies. thats not long. many designs are yet to be discovered. look at the size of this pedal powered helicopter. imagine if it was 10 times the size using light weight materials. remember that no major companies are putting high amounts of research into this field of flying machines. if they did then we wouls start to see some real mind blowing stuff

  • I think those guys were lifting him up

  • Why complain? could you build better? its a fantastic peice, from da vinchi or not, you should be proud to be apart of the race tha built such a thing, so why give such poor thoch, imature critisism?

  • lol i think i heard a bunch of howling monkies in the background

  • @b4sshunt3rgg yea, considering that he lived in the 1400's, invented things that would be concretized 600 years after he was born, had an IQ far higher than any other person in his time, painted beautiful paintings with extreme detailing... yes, he was really an idiot.

  • @kinklestar

fake and gay, da vinci is gay.

  • So how many of you whiny bitches flew your pedal-copter today, huh? HUH?! Yeah, didn't think so.

    Good effort, ever forward.

  • Nice try except the rules state you can't have people on the ground helping. On the right track obviously.

  • THAT not eaven one of the model leonardo draw fuck head

  • lol..the machine flew 1/10 on an inch and people like ""wooooo, yeaaaah"

  • @funzz1 it was human powered, thats hard to do man, cut them some slack

  • @kgirlsworld dumb people

  • I cant believe I lived long enough to see the human powered helicopter get off the ground !!!! Excellent work. Now make it out of carbon fiber.

  • first video i've found with one that actually works. nice job

  • the innermost part of the wing is useless, ineffective for any lift. they'd save weight and reduce rotational mass by eliminating the slowest inner portion of the wings hell with lighter materials available now and a stronger frame too that principal would get a few more inches off the ground

  • @Scubapro821 : You would reduce weight but the exposed spar would create more drag than you had before, so you'd increase the power required to rotate the blades. It's a tradeoff.

  • Another ground effect machine

  • humans...

  • they should have put four rings on the ground and ran four ropes, one to each conner, because the one dude grabbing the wing really throws it off...

  • okay, okay, I do actually even understand, how it can fly. Good idea! They should work on it... but where is it now? its been 20 years. By that time they would have a working controllable machine.

  • ahhh, this on guy was just lifting it with hes arms.

  • You must have destroyed that gym floor...

  • She is very pretty but I think the jet man is closer to a marketable product.

  • Fail

  • in the future i will have one. "I'm flying to work. I'll be home at 5:00 if the air traffic isn't too bad."

  • Were saved ! Barak Obama has discovered a way off foreign oil. ! Now we only need about fifty trillion bike riders to power a generator.

  • Yuo cant fly with one watt, only need very big propeller.

  • that sucks

  • dud dont take the name of a great man and is heli is gana crash no tail roter

  • Nice try!

  • Looked like they ran out of creative steam when it came to configuring the test itself. Is this the best we can do to achieve some stability—two guys dressed as waiters shuffling around in a dizzy little circle? Testing is part of design!

  • thats stupid it doesn't even work

  • I think people had a nice idea of a human powered helicopter as to compare to a bicycle, you just keep it in the kitchen or garden shed when not using it..This here is a state of the art in technology and achievment, but with its extreme propotions not to mention a small gust of wind acting on it, it is useless destined for the meuseam.

  • Man..... I guess with a wingspan that large the angular velocity doesn't need to be fast at all!

  • 14CPO, You are partly right. Efficient powered pedal flying machines have been tried, but the government has not put a stop to them. They are just not pratical as transportation since they need around 30 meter span and an empty weight around 30kg to fly on the measly .25hp a well trained man can produce. (He can produce more than 1hp actually, but only in shorter bursts). And no, I am not with the government or the aeroindustry. I am just a curious tractor mechanic. Should I find the data for u?

  • @sablatnic we'd like the data. Did you know the AHS has raised the award to 250,000USD?

  • Will see what I can find. It will be as a lot of formulas an stuff, partly in german.

  • Rumour has it that efficient powered pedal flying machines have been tried and produced but the government are have ordered a blackout on them due to airspace fears & concerns. They seem to oppose free transport that lifts the limits on people

  • what many dont kniw is that this is a hover craft not a helicopter

  • well actually its an aeroplane going round a round about its origin

  • The flight vehicle is in a museum in New York

  • Cool, whatever became of this design?
