Kinda funny how it was back then, The people like you and me were complete outcasts , i can clearly remember my first few years as a rebel punker.
1977 1978 1979 .
got rid of the long hair hippy bullshit and first two Punk LPs were never mind the bullocks and the first ramones album, the one with Blitskrieg bop and Loudmouth.
Took them both to a party at a friends house where they were still into genesis and trowler and zepplin .
Just Catchin up with my old teenage faves.. So out the picture and This is how I found out the sad news.Very Sad News, Missing him already. My thoughts go to Poison Ivy. Time heals all wounds.
just got back from a local store that carries punk, classic rock and heavy metal merchandise where i bought a cramps CD. Rest in peace lux. i know you're up there rockin.
i just found out too.cramps were favs of mine. There's a band i heard that is nearly as good and they give a shout to cramps they are scaries from milton fl, i saw a show and dayum they were great. i think they have a myspace acct, check out blue velvet and god's caddilac, cramps influence lives on ! Lux hasnt gone anywhere really.....
I heard yesterday he died, he was also famous in The Netherlands and once had a great concert in Amsterdam, Cramps was a fantastic band, so much better than all those commercial popshit in the chards at this moment, rest in peace Lux, Holland will always remember you.
Every time I see someone posts a comment that they didn't know Lux died till just then, I feel a bit blue for them. It's horrible thing to find out. Rest in Pieces Lux.
Lux was my late husband's favorite performer in the world - he and Johnny Thunders. My husband died July/08 of a heart attack. I am lost. I am glad he has Lux, Johnny, most of the Ramones and so many good guys to hang out with. I love you Steven forever. Rock on.
I witnessed Lux and The Cramps in 84. This is when rock was lean and mean. Id never seen such a tour de force of sexuality and power since Iggy. Writhing in sweat and silvia. You really got the sense it was for the love and not for the fame. If you could design the perfect rock beast, He or She couldnt hold a candle to Lux. All these new schools could learn alot from Him. Passion, dedication and artfully fulfilling. He will be truly missed and celebrated.
Yeah, would love to think of Lux coming back from the grave as a zombie! A real cool as hell zombie. He made so many people happy. The Cramps saved rock and roll. They absolutely saved the damned thing. Lux is just like Gene Vincent. I hope he was happy with his life. He made so many people, so very very happy!!!
So would I!! I agree, about Rock'n'Roll and the Cramps... and if anybody could and would come back as an undead to haunt us it would be Lux. I wish it would happen...
Honestly, the greatest front man, ever. I don't think anyone else could have done a better job fronting such an amazing band-a band that influenced an entire genre of music. I will sorely miss Lux Interior. Even though I did not know him personally, I knew him through his music and I felt his stage presence once. I feel really lucky.
I just wanted to see them once more. Even if I felt I needed decon after their shows. Lux will be missed in the same as Stiv. Cramps will be in Cleveland a few years down when talks of influence ignite. My heartfelt condolence goes out to the friends and fam of Lux. This is a true loss for us.
RIP Lux, you will be missed. If you come back as a Zombie, I promise to feed you brains. I love you Lux. My love goes out to Poison Ivy, who I love very much as well. Thank you Cramps for giving us your best years and some great music.
I saw them at Trees in Dallas once. I tried to see them again a few years back and got kicked out for throwing up all over the place before the show started. R.I.P.
wow that was seriously not expexting that but i liked it haha very good job i am very appualed that, that even happend haah but it was a very nice touch
You're not alone, I can assure you. It blew me totally out too - this was actually TOO much!!! Here's another cliché for you: The Cramps made a difference. Well, clichés come the real world and good liners repeated - but they are normally heartfelt. I don't easily cry, but this one did me in. It's hard.
and me son, never cried over non relative dieing before (well a bit over Brit DJ John Peel) but of all the people in music who i dreaded dieing Lux was the one....still gobsmacked and at the risk of sounding stalker-ish (tho not meant too) seriously considering flying to glendale to feel closer and pay some respects....so no mate your tears are felt and cried here too in london....take care and love to ivy and our man
RIP Dear Lux, your music will live forever in my heart and will always be grateful for the 20+ years that you have been my favorite. Live on Mad Daddy....
Great job. Thanks. I have been so sad since I found out the passing of Lux. There will never be another person like lux. I never regreted any of their show i had went to. Im gonna miss my most favorite band the Cramps. Love u Lux!
