I know that when I'm not here anymore street corner harmony will continue for another generation. BTW, I love the music the Mello-Kings put on wax. They were more than a one hit wonder.

"Valerie" was written by Paul Evans and Jimmy Krondes. While both had ties with others in their successful songwriting ventures, the duo was also repsonsible for "School Bells" by Nicky & the Nobles (on Gone Records), another doo-wopp favorite.

Valerie is a real classic, and I really love it, however, there is no question that the Mello Kings best work by far was "Tonight Tonight", which always landed on the top 5 songs of all time from it's era. Many polls showed it as the #1.
