I've got this on VHS, and I always wanted to upload it, but didn't have the equipment (or more likely the ability, a good man always knows his limitations...) to do it.
But "goldenhinde" to the rescue, and in great quality - thanks for posting this classic.

But how many million times have I told you? The lyrics are the icing on the cake - you can have a good song with crap lyrics, but not the other way round !

Well that is true, but lyrics also mean a lot in a song. So it helps to at least understand them! With this guy I can just get a f*ck here or a rock & roll here and the rest is all gibberish!

Yes, I heard them before and have no trouble understanding them for the most part. But this guy is just mumbling his way through the song! But then again that was Punk right!?

And why not ? Punk was all about originality - although The Jam were never thought of as purely punk. But that was down to their "Mod" image, and not the music, which is great punk !!

@roddy76to86 i`m not really a stranglers fan but i think they got some unfair criticism about their `sexism` it was probably no worse than say `so messed up` by the damned.i mean `peaches` was an observation of blokes on building sites ogling women but `walking on the scaffold looking at the peaches ` does`nt sound to good does it.
