agnetha is so beautiful..... however, it might have been better for her if she had the same voice, but had the looks of Mama Cass... of course, not choking on the puke.
it's sad that Agnetha was scared of her fans..... We were just trying to appreciate the beauty. We mean no harm, Aggie! We just love you and the gift you gave the world with your voice... Frida couldn't even come close to you!
Has anyone received a black and white autographed postcard of Agnetha in the last few years. If so, has anyone had one of these signed postcards professionally authenticated. Because I've received one recently, and I've seen a number of people on the internet, have recieved the same thing, and I'm unsure if it is authentic, original and hand signed by Agnetha herself.
The vocals in this early ABBA song were a blueprint for what they would become famous for a few years later and it hasn't stopped yet, even if they did 27 years ago!
I love this song! The album its on, Ring Ring, is amazing. This is one of their best songs ever. ABBA is hands down the greatest band the world has ever seen
Yes its the perfect picture for this song, and doesn't need changing. That's my style for non performance vids - a suitable picture with a good background description and lyrics. Thanks for fav also, cheers from John.
Hi Melissa, there was some bad comments from user "agameofdarts", which I've deleted and he's closed his account now. AbbaWatcher & AbbaDefender blasted him away for me. Thanks for your concern, cheers from John.
You really would not want to meet me, it could well be the end of you. Admitted, Aggie is getting old, but she is still a darling, whether you think so or not. And as far as her being Swedish, that is a typically American comment because many (but not all)Americans think they are God's chosen people, have one of the most fucked-up countries on earth (crumbling economy, messed up war, gun violence, drugs, gangs, disparity between rich and poor, child poverty) and think they control the world.
Look at this picture: a wonderful woman, who IS a wonderful singer with a wonderful voice. Queen Agnetha, thank you for the joy you brought (and still bring) to us all.
this was the first album i ever bought, 'ABBA's Greatest Hits' , released in Britain with the iconic picture of them on the park bench amid the autumn leaves, that album was to me what 'sergeant peppers' lonely hearts club band was to the previous generation , seminal!
For years I have been telling people that Agnetha's voice is the best in the world...with Karen Carpenter No.2...and both ahead of even the best operatic voices...my criteria have to do with sweetness of tone and emotional content as well as versatility, range etc. My very first record player in the UK had 16 rpm setting...so they did exist in the UK...mid-1950s.
Hi Lauren, they will - Abba music is timeless and appeals to all generations! This song is typical of the catchy unique tuneful harmonies they produced!
This is the song that turned me on to ABBA it was on a 45 for those who do not know what a 45 is it is a small record ABBA'S songs will always remain on the music scene.
Your 45 of this song is quite rare. I think it was only released in France and Belgium on the Vogue label, and came out on October 11 1973. The B-side is He Is Your Brother. I'm not surprised you were coverted to Abba by this clever catchy song. Yes many Abba songs are timeless classics still regularly played today. I've still got lots of 33's & 45's, mainly Rolling Stones. I did have some 78's years ago.
45 is the speed in which the record spins at 45 RPM (revolutions per minute). Same with 33 1/3 RPM also referred to as Lps (Long Playing) and 78 RPM records. There were also half-speed ones which were 16 RPM.
Not heard of 16rpm before! These old vinyl records were played on a record player that had a long arm with a small needle on the end. The needle sat in the disc groove while the disc rotated at the specified rpm. The music came out through attached loudspeakers. The vinyl discs got scratched easily unfortunately!
Don't think half speed records appeared in UK at all Martin. I guess they were for specialist use and not a commercial or international success. Not heard of Ultradisc's either, we just have plain and simple CDs over here. Thanks for interesting info.
Ring Ring must be the best debut album ever done. Its full of unique catchy songs like this, such as I Am Just A Girl and I Saw It In The Mirror. These Abba guys and girls were musical geniuses!
You're right. The song came out in 1973, the pic is from around 1976. What a nuisance! But she still looks pretty good today. She was definitely the hottest singer around in the 70's.
Agnetha often wore sexy oufits on stage as well Max. It's amazing just how many good qualities she has, even outside her singing. She was red hot without trying. That lycra fits her figure perfectly.
She has to keep fit for all those concert routines, but still manages to look georgeous just doing that. That blue jumper is strategically placed this time Shay!
Always liked this song for many reasons. Aggies vocals, the killer guitar step, Fridas obscure bing! between 1:38 to 1:50 in the background. It's ABBA how can it not be great. :)
i remember this song when i first visited tmanila... so this woman agnetha should have an reaping age today, may be she's 72 yrs. old

Not many people have heard of Half-speed records. You might see the odd turntable that actually has 16 RPM setting on them.
I think the company that made these records was Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs. They also made CDs called Ultradisc and Ultradisc II.
