the whole story is conveluded and foolish. The angel of death has specific knowledge on witch animals to kill, yet when it comes to humans you have to spread rams blood over the door... Seriously, it is a celebration of the death of others in its origin. Just like how christmas has become something it was not originally. Esspecially if you don't believe in it. Why not just do away with the dumb old tradition?
@arkmade originally on pass over we use to sacrifice an animal in the temple in Jerusalem to thank god that he freed us but after the temple was destroyed we cuoldnt do that any more so we did what we could with out the temple and over the years it has changed. at the beginning it wasnt a celebration of others deth we celebrated the fact that were alive and free.
ARKMADE of course it cant be proven, it also says thet moses tapped a rock and water came out of it, thet bread fell from the sky and thet moses was a 120 year old doud thet traveld in the desert for 40 years with thousand of other peaple.
also god didnt kill the firs bornes right away he gave pharoh alot of warnings befor he did that. and if it really happend then its very tragic BUT NOBODY CELEBRAT DEATH ON PASS
we are not just celebrating our freedom . we sit with our family and read how our ancestors were slaves its our way to remember and its our duty to never forget.

the pass over is a stupid holiday. its based on something that jewish achiologist say didnt happen. Even if it did, its a celebration or reminder of god killing tons of innocent children, just to prove a point to a pharoh that he had hardened the heart of just to prove said point.
@arkmade of course archaeologists cant prove it.. it also says that moses tapped a rock and water came out of it, bread fell from the sky the sea divided to 2 and that a 120 year old doud led us through the desert for 40 years by following a column of fire.either u beloive in it or u dont (i dont) but the point is to be with your family and make your grandad happy by reading all of the hagada.
@arkmade also by the hagada god gave pharoh his fair share of warning but even after 9 warnings pharoh didnt budge so god made the 10th one count. I think it was very cruel to kill all of the first borns if it did happend but if it did its very tagic and i dont wish it to anyone BUT ON PASS OVER WE DO NOT CELEBRAT ANYONES DEATH! and the religious ones of us canot question gods choise no metter how cruel or wrong it is.

i agree with Hagitusha, we were in egypt for real, and yea more on the idea of passover, except for the internet part, Moses was found in a basket, bunch of plagues, the bush wasn't being consumed, God hardened Pharoe's heart, and there was a plague of the firstborn. Ani Yehudi!
@sidecrank It isn't celebrating the death of anybody, it is celebrating being freed from slavery. We celebrate the 4th of July because of freedom, not because of the British soldiers who died in order for us to obtain that freedom.
@sidecrank it's like some sort of independence day.. I wouldn't be surprised if most independence days involved people dieing.. because yes, sadly enough part of the Egyptian army died and not until all of the firstborn in Egypt died overnight by an angel did the paraoh in that time finally allow them to leave. So there was some dieing, but that's not the point, that's just a sad part of the whole story. The best might have been if the pharaoh let them free directly.
@FirsToStrike Jews live all over the world of course. We thought it would be randomly fun to set this episode in Russia so that we could write some funky music and then have the world tour at the end!
@FirsToStrike Russians suppressed religion and persecuted the Jews with pogroms. Remember, "Religion is the opiate of the masses" said Marx. The upside down red star symbolizes Satanism as well red for Russia.
Excellent. Entertaining AND educational but more needs to be known by some as ignorant as me, born outside the Jewish faith and by my location in remote northwest Saskatchewan, isolated from further wisdom except via this world wide web. Can you please elaborate on the significance of Passover with more of these precious stories and thank you.

I can't understand why it is cool to celebrate the death of people?
sidecrank 1 year ago
@sidecrank It's not cool at all. In fact the Passover story reminds us that it is not okay to celebrate when God's creatures die.

@sidecrank Whoever told you that should check his facts before he spreads false rumors

@benketriel Are not you celebrating the death of Gentiles?
sidecrank 10 months ago
@sidecrank no, the main idea is to celebrate the freedom from slavery of the Israelis in Egypt back in the time =]

@sidecrank We don't celebrate the death of people. It's a celebration of leaving slavery in Egypt. Or leaving the slavery of the world system.
