The security film is not intended stop a determined intruder, it is meant to deter the intruder by making it more difficult to break in. All I am asking of this product is to slow the intruder down long enough for me to call 911, jack a 3" magnum 12 ga. 4 shot shell into the chamber and wait. It is all about giving the homeowner the time needed to arm oneself.

@jaysonspeer That light weight is harder then you think. A tiny piece of porcilen, stuff that plates are made out of/spark plugs etc, can smash a window. Generally the harder it is the more damage that can be done with it. At least i think.. o_O

@jaysonspeer The thing in my hand is about a 12" long wrecking bar. Frankly, just about ideal for B&E. No break and enter thieves carry sledge hammers as it tends to draw attention when you walk down a dark street with a giant hammer in in your hand :) You're right, a sledge hammer would punch a hole much easier, at which point you go to the tear resistance of the film. You're still a long way from walking in the door. A car would be a better choice.

I plan to get this for my basement windows, which are in the back of the house and at ground level, therefore the most likely pick as a break-in spot for a criminal. Not expecting it to keep a determined idiot out, but why would someone put in that much effort just to break in to a house? Plus if I'm home, the extra break-in time and noise it would generate would give me a chance to load up and call 911.
