  • yhats so cool red chillies fans led cunts here. im here because of hip hop but respect

  • @demonear1 RHCP was inspired by Public Enemy, nothing wrong with that. Besides Public Enemy based the guitar rift from Dennis Coffey's - Getting it On.

    /watch?v=aNgIGYQ1_Zk

  • @jkunblade he said "that's cool that they led RHCP fans here", he's "here because of hiphop" but "Respect" he's not saying there's anything wrong with that - quite the opposite! :)

  • @MrBushkilla exactly! lol it's great that other music & bands have got their fans into PE! PE are HipHop through & through but they've influenced many people outside hiphop which is testament to how great a group they were & still are in fact!

  • EVERYBODY promote this song and get millions of more views, Justin Bieber can suck on this :-)

  • i can´t believe that i get a top coment just for putting that

now anybody else knos de first 40 seconds of this song thanks to the red hot chili peppers ?

  • First albums are always the artists best

  • @DeepNYCHouse

    ...led zeppelin?

  • @DeepNYCHouse Yeah true - but it takes a nation of millions to hold us back was even better!

  • got my eye on a coupe1987 98 olds for sale tire skirts curb feelers uzi mount

  • its been 25 years ago when i got this on cassette dam time flies

  • Public Enemy iz da Shit!!!!

  • You gonna get it. No doubt.

  • Great tune! This was my first album, I was about 13 years old, bought in Shepherds Bush West London, back when it was a bad boy town!

  • @0934101 Big up Shephards Bush!

  • Chuck D's voice has a presence that can make hair stick up on a shark

  • LOOK AT MY NAME! You think I dont like this track? C'mon Man. AND, my real name is Chuck MF D! On my Birth Cert!

  • @88chuckd My name is Flavor Flav, its on my birth certificate.. Infact my full name is Flavour Big Daddy Kane EriC sermon J.V.C.F.O.R.C.E Kool Keith Flav..

  • reminds me of human traffic, quality film 1:44

  • I think Chuck D has always been underrated as an MC. Those first two PE albums were GREAT musically and lyrically, and although Flav was always the most popular of the group, Chuck D's voice and lyrics(especially this cut, Public Enemy No.1, and Miuzi weighs a ton) are what, in my opinion, made PE the icons they are. 'Nuff respect...

  • oops. Too many 40s. I confused Cold Lampin' with Too Much Posse in the preceding comment. Either way, savor the Flava.

  • Yes, yes y'all. Apart from RUN-DMC, Grandmaster and the Furious, Sugar Hill, and perhaps The Treacherous 3... this was in fact the birth of the Dope Jam; not to be confused with DefJam (though I do like the Beasties and Slayer). While i popped this first on cassette -- my Technics turntable was shit and I couldn't affort a new diamond stylus -- the rhymes and samples still pasted my face through the Toshiba auto-reverse that I carried at the time. Miuzi, Lampin', Rightstarter. A sacred document.

  • Listening to this album always makes me 15 again.. Great memories, great album.

This is real RAP. This is BADASS. This does not sound like a slow distant train going by, "thunnk-a-thunnk, thunnk-a-thunnk" with somebody reading the weather forecast almost aloud, like today's lameass so-called rap artists.

Public Enemy and Run DMC will always be the only true rap groups for me. 'Nuff said, peace out y'all.

  • Best group in the history of hip-hop!

  • I'm normally a hardcore metalhead but this shit is fresh! :D

  • I just watched Nicki Minaj, Drake and Lil Wayne on some bullshit concert on Vh1, threw up on myself and got on my computer and searched this and it was visual Pepto Bismol!

    Let that marinate mufuckas!!!

  • Chili peppers sent me to get mine

  • 4 people got theirs.

  • Shit is too dope! The recording is super classic, they dont make voices like Chuck's anymore!

  • New kids should do some learnin

  • Still dustin these boys off! My REAL name is Chuck MF D!

  • 4 of em hate 98's!

  • OLDSMOBILE STATION WAGON..."94 MODEL?....2 15" JL AUDIO SUB WOOFERS, 4 ALPINE 6X9" & 2 6" ALPINE 6" MID-RANGE SPEAKERS, 2 3" HIGH RANGE WITH BUILT IN TWEETERS, 2 500 WATT ALPINE AMPLIFIERS(early 90's V-12's series) 1 CROSSOVER/BY-PASS, 2 POWER REGULATERS, 2 DIE-HARD BATTERIES FROM SEARS,..IT'S WAS THE SUMMER OF 94...HEARING THIS FOR THE 1ST TIME...(tears)

  • Probably the best trak on the album. Also who else think the opening couple of seconds sounds like the Embasy world Snooker World Championships theme LOL

  • I like this. After 24 years.

  • @klade77 I'm still lovin it after 24 years!!!

  • anybody else comes because of red hot chili peppers give it away ????

  • @theblink747 i think 100 000 of 143 000 cam because of RHCP:d

  • @theblink747 Funk yeah!

  • @theblink747 yeah

  • @theblink747 huh

  • First time I saw them I never heard of them, main act was LL Cool J, en the warming up was Eric B and Rakim, I came for the last ones, but PE was a awesome bonus!

  • One of the best songs ever on one of the best albums ever.

  • The red hot chili peppers brought me here :D

  • @charliesmakinme me too!

  • @chidorhcp I like your username....lol... Hope you understand and like mine too ha ha!

  • @charliesmakinme smile :D (8)

  • PE and Run DMC were the groups that opened the world of rap to me. I love them both to this day and owe them a great debt for what they did for me

  • Cost me £10 on import when I copped it, a lot of money for a kid back then. I plopped it on my record player then, from this intro, the scratchy guitars and Flav's opening words I sat rooted to the spot, listening to it over and over again into the night. I was stunned by its brilliance. These mysterious people from another country had made something truly dynamic and beautiful from poverty and discrimination. I'll never forget that. Thank you Public Enemy.

  • @TheAkashdeepJabandar best comment ever!

  • @maxakamestesso agreed. chills from that shit.

  • @TheAkashdeepJabandar great post, props from a 35 yr old canadian b-boy.... P.Eace.

  • @TheAkashdeepJabandar "poverty and discrimination."

Chuck D grew up in Roosevelt, Long Island, median income $57,252. He was middle-class all the way.

  • @JimGoad, It's obvious that you've never lived in the NYC / NJ area. $57K ain't shit. Granted it's not poverty level, but even back in the day, it was basically paycheck to paycheck income.

  • @TheAkashdeepJabandar Much Love...feeling it.

  • @TheAkashdeepJabandar I'm astounded. You can see. You were blessed with vision!

  • give it away

  • leave you in the dust so you know I get paid!

  • LOL 45 y.o. white dude shakin' his belly fat to the noize YEEEAAAAAHH

  • Just bouhgt this album! Such class. Sadly, there ain't been a classy new rap artist since the 90's. Bring back the passion to the music, let's get rid of this commercialism that is surrounding us.

  • @PoolWins You should check out Saul Williams.

  • @Nireves33 Yeah i did check him out and liked him very much, thanks for the tip!

  • This song always hypes me up.

  • @ronaldsneek These sounds made me wanna be even blacker than i already am! In my nissan micra!

  • why does this album sound like its being recorded in a tunnel?

  • Best Oldschoolsong ever!!!

  • Best PE song in my opinion. Doesn't get any better than the Ol School. Give me that old ass 80's sound anyday!

  • @Conduit13C definetly best song !

  • man, mad memories! use to ride around blatsing this. classic!

  • they played this song in Boston Monday night. Flava Flav on drums, and man, it was sick.

  • PE was a conscious group...98 was an exception...not to mention even if PE did talk about just cars, money, etc...they could never be as whack as these m*&G&*fu*&%$# these days. PE was and still is one of the most influential hip-hop groups EVER. They set the bar and there hasn't been another group to hit on their level. (Maybe WU...MAYBE).

  • Chuck D & Public Enemy they are one of the Rap Gods, give that respect

  • First heard of these guys in 1987 because of the Beastie Boys. These guys kill it. This is P.E.'s best song. Also saw them live from the front row of Nassau Colliseum in the late 80's.

  • @jackshittle Cool, i just got my tickets to see them in November, i know theyre older now, but i was just a little bit too young to go back in the day so I am on a high right now, man i cant fuckin wait, even if Flav comes out out on a Zimmerframe like in CB4, i dont care, these guys were one of the biggest muical influences growing up, and now i AM going to see em.

  • @bombaymatt Thats awesome. I hope you have a killer time. Chuck D is the man. Watched the Flavor Flav roast the other day and Greg Giraldo killed it when he said "Flav, you look like a skeleton wrapped in electrical tape." Flav laughed really hard.

  • CLASSIC REAL HIP HOP................IS THERE ANOTHER VOICE LIKE CHUCK D'S..........SUCH STRENGTH AND DEPTH!! PUBLIC ENEMY TIL I DIE!!!

  • Dark tinted windows, so superbad, lookin' like the car The Green Hornet had..........

    you gonna get yours!

  • This album set the style for Hip Hop b4 De La Soul.fact people......

  • @kevzero11 Yeh man.....true innovators, going to see them in November Boyeeeeeee

  • this is a classic

  • To the idiots complaining about Chuck rappin about a car, he did it in a way of not glorifying it with hoes, money and 22's!! Get the difference?? ALso they were not only the first to make a song about a car, but also about a gun "My Uzi Weighs a Ton" Chuck was so good, he knew how far to go with it, today's rappers just killed alled the dignity about guns and cars!

  • burnout scratch rules

  • THANK YOU!!!! THIS SONG IS CLASSIC!! CHUCK D HAS A VOICE THAT DELIVERS EVERY TIME..........MAN, PLEASE COME BACK REAL HIP-HOP!! THANK GOODNESS I WAS AROUND WHEN THEY FIRST CAME OUT. MADE MY MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL YEARS ALL WORTH IT!!!

-Some say I'm negative, but they're not positive.......wonder what I got to say (the media says this) RED, BLACK, AND GREEN........YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN - 'DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE'

  • OMG what happened to the rap game r.i.p. 2000-2010, this album my shit!!

  • How you gonna drive a 98 in 87?

  • @djt2012 Ninety-Eight Oldsmobile is the model and make, not year

  • @barbita1970 True! I don't think these youngins know! Lol!!

  • @djt2012 its da name of the car...its an oldsmobile ninety-eight...like chrysler got a car called a chrysler 300..its just a name of the car,it has nothin to do with da year

  • @djt2012 rofl.......wow...know much about cars?

  • @MTXSHO9732vV8SHO And PE started with this song on their first Album, so at FIRST they rapped about a car (like you said only ONCE) and THEN turned to (I think the most-) serious rap lyrics, just the other way compared to those many Pop-rappers... That´s the reason why they are still successful and famous (for those who hear more than TV rap): they have messages AND they rock!

  • @NoizeGearIch Can't a black man (or a white man for that matter) just love his car? Everyhting gotta be political? I love my car even tho its a piece of shit now.

  • love the way this goes with 'Give it Away', and the way anthony makes it work as an intro

  • Caught these a couple of years ago at Liverpool O2 Acadamy, fookin rocked the place - not as big when i seen them various times in the eighties but hell yeah, off see them again when they come again. Miss Terminator X though and there is now DJ Lord.

  • This is what I was listening to when i was 17!! I'm 40 now. My how time has flown

  • man this soung brings me back! PE rules!!!

  • ego trip!

  • sucker to tha side I know ypu hate my 98

    YOU GONNA GET YOURS!

  • ......what i've got you've got to give it to your mamma...

  • Real music that meant something. Not like the b.s. you hear today. Im in the home video for P.E. that was shot live at Nassau Colliseum. Front row floor seats.

  • GOD bless Public Enemy! I am a white boy who grew up on this rap: i love it! There is nothing today that compares to the old skool>>

  • @n8erstew Why do white cats always gotta stipulate that they're white when they're on black interest pages ? Okay..black people..all together now with a collective ooooooo!! Smh

  • HARDORE

  • "They couldn't get me and that's the truth cause my 98 Olds is bulletproof".

  • Dennis Coffey - Getting It On

  • HaaaaaardCORE!!!!!

  • here ya go fam PE You're gonna get yours!

  • oh shit!!! someone made a song for oldsmobile. wikard

  • sounds like get away music after you just did sumthin ill.

  • Jesus fucking Christ, all you guys do is complain about current state of Hip-Hop, there was Hammer and Vanilla Ice back then too.

Theres plenty great stuff, you just need to know where to look, The Roots, Madlib, MF Doom fuck...

  • I love it when the Red Hot Chili Peppers use this song as an intro for Give it Away!

  • I only own 4 rap albums and I'm glad three of them are Public Enemy.

  • may i ask what the other one is ?

  • Why do people say that hip hop now sucks cause all they talk about is cars, money, etc and that we need to go back to old hip hop when back then they had songs about the same stuff?

  • cause today most of the wack rappers talk only about cars, money, bitches, etc.

we do not need to go back to old, but we need to go back to REAL!
