I think you're right about Gruzia's aggression towards Ossetia; however, Russia shouldn't have intervened without the UN's approval. Gruzia is sovereign, so the Russians were disregarding international law (however well-intentioned). Over 2000 people were killed, many of them--civilians. It's a tragedy, however way you look at it. Russia is a dangerous element, in the international dynamic.
