  • Hi, is it possible to SLI using a top card using this cooler, with the cooler downwards facing? It looks like there is space to clear the bottom card (which will be using the stock cooler). I would like to make sure before getting it.

  • @JeffVoon If you get a massively big case you can even fit 2 in there, one facing upwards and 1 facing downwards :D

  • Okay, how the fuck do you have a such great graphics card and a keyboard from like the 1992? lol

  • so say its a 6870 vapor x, will the gpu use the vapor x cooling system as well as the thermalrights spit fire together for enhanced cooling?

  • very nice...believe me i would hook up my old dell mechanical keyboard if my new comp had an old style keyboard plug

  • your keyboard made me die laughing

  • @bradrhoades102840

Model M too godly for your comprehension I presume?

  • Im thinking of buying the spitfire in combination with the vrm cooler. On your site it states that it isnt compatible with big cpu coolers. But would it be possible to turn it 180 degrees downwards so that it fits? I saw a video of another user who mounted it this way. My case is the haf 932 the same as shown in this video. And would there be enough clearence so that it wont touch my psu or interfer with a soundcard?

  • Plz make one for GTX 460 :( i want one soooo bad

  • @wishihadaname94 Our Shaman is compatible for GTX460, Spitfire will be compatible too, we will release the kit soon :)

  • @Thermalrightonutube

You guys are my favorite now...lol

  • @wishihadaname94

if your 460 runs hot enough to need an aftermarket cooler then there is something wrong

  • @timmytime1793

well i have mine OC'd to 925 mhz core...and its the EVGA one, which cools like shit and is loud as fuck..

  • no sound (jizz)

  • i bet that u cant move that rig arund the block to much :P due to huge heatsink that could kill motherboard and VGA

  • why in the world do you have an ambient of 26 degrees? that pretty swetty or is that just me?

  • epic fail my 5870 with stock cooling never pass 65 c full load

  • @ndragos87 then you have never done a run of furmark course the 5870 gets to 83 degrees c with an ambient of 22 C i have done it myself...

  • where can i download that version. the 1 that has animations by lava or stuff.

  • Do you ever watch DVD's on your computer?

  • Do you ever watch DVDs on your computer?

  • 83, fuk man thats still hot.

  • I have the same PSU as you! Nice

  • very nice product but it is way to big and i cant see this working in sli

  • Why buy a dedicated cooler when you can just turn your gpu fan speed up? lol.

  • @saikimimaru if you don't mind your stock fan running at 3000~4000rpm with the jet taking off sound, then you may do so, our vga cooler runs gpu cooler and quieter, you can even overclock with low rpm fan, think about it ;)

  • @Thermalrightonutube I get where you're coming from but when i spend money on my rig, i like to improve performance first and noise level second. My HD 4870 at stock clocks never ever needs to go above 40% fan speed to stay around 60c at max load. I could imagine the 480 overclocked is worlds apart in noise and or heat though. Anyways, nice video. =)

  • @saikimimaru thank you!

  • @saikimimaru no ur just a lil bitch talking about noise.you dont want to wake up ur mom? she might bitch slap you?

  • @vicous707 LOL umadbro?

  • @saikimimaru mad? no im not im just speaking the truth :)

  • @saikimimaru It's also worlds apart performance wise...

  • @saikimimaru more importantly, why use a fan when you can use water? exactly.

  • You guys posted another video were you were getting 66c on full load. What did you do differently? I am really looking into buying the Spitfire and GF100 mounting kit, but I would like to know what it takes to get the 66c difference!

I also really like the specs of the X-Silent 140mm fan you sell. Would this have any problems with the Spitfire?

  • @loudpanzer We took off the cover from the GPU :) , but we found out that Spitfire would have loading temperature from 66 ~ 75 degrees, because we didn't quite install it properly in the higher temperature video

  • @Thermalrightonutube

    How did you remove it?

Is it at all hazardous to the health of the card?

  • @loudpanzer X-silent Fan 140 works great with Spitfire, and works very quietly as well :) you may check the fan review by someone in our favorite videos from our channel

  • @Thermalrightonutube thank you very much for your help! I just put an order in for the Spitfire, X-Silent and GF100 bolt! Will look for a guide on removing the cover on the 480gtx.

  • @loudpanzer in the first Video there was no VRM G2 on the GTX480,X-silent fan was first designed for Spitfire for low noise and good airflow operations, so there wouldn't be a problem, many thanks for your support!

  • So about that VRM cooler....?

  • @DeusGear ready next week ;)

  • @Thermalrightonutube

Thanks but I already installed a spitfire on my 480 and put a fan over the vrm chips with copper heatsinks on top. Works fine :)

  • So hot is the VGA core? And is the cooler/fan loud?

  • @Geoxile this was actually the first Video of our SPitfire on GTX480,

so it might not be mounted properly, we would say the GPU core will be areound 70~75 degrees , fan is only 1600rpm, very quiet ;)

  • i want this cooler

  • How will the spacing be taking care of if we have 2 GTX 480's?

  • @DreamSparksLLC unfortunately it is not possible to have 2 Spitfires

  • @Thermalrightonutube I thought it was, as you can position it vertical or horizontal due to it being able to mount either way...

  • @Thermalrightonutube It is, one facing up, one facing down...

  • hey i can use for sli 480 gtx ?

  • does it need the Thermalright VRM r3 or r4 to go with it or its fine without cause i was thinking of getting this cooler for my xfx 4890

  • @davidkerr7 yes it is fine, but if you want to run it under furmark program or as such,

it's better to have VRM cooler, you will need R1 and R2 by the way, for 4800 series,

    R3~R5 are for 5800 series

  • @Thermalrightonutube and for the GTX 480?

  • how does the graphics card support the weight of that cooler

  • @davidkerr7 it comes with a supporting bar, so you don't need to worry about it,

in our test there's many attempts of take out and in , so to make test easier we didn't use the supporting bar, you can check the supporting bar from our website

  • Really? So the base has the same finish on both sides? If so, I'll have to get this since it seems to be the best GPU cooler out.

  • @boredgunner yes, so it allows for 2 installation directions , you can check out from our website ;) in the VGA page /Spitfire/Installation

  • Yes but I have a tower heat sink a Prolimatech Megahalems at the moment and soon a Noctua NH-D14. I don't want to setup a custom water cooling loop, I don't want a down draft CPU cooler since they're considerably worse, and I don't want a no maintenance water cooler like the Corsair H50 since those are worse than good air coolers. I appreciate the response though, no product can be for everyone.

  • @boredgunner thank you again for your support ;)

  • 80% fan, doesn't surpass 90 degrees Celsius in games.

  • This cooler is an epic fail. So many restrictions and not even decent temps.

I mean whats the point of sacrificing a good tower cooler for the cpu if you can't even get temps below 70 with this.

  • @devlin2427this was meant for enthusiasts or overclockers with water cooling / downdraft cooling , everything comes with a price, we will try to improve our next Spitfire :)

  • This cooler is an epic fail. So many restrictions and not even decent temps.

I mean whats the point of sacrificing a good tower cooler for the cpu if you can't even get temps below 70 with this.

  • Ah nevermind, I won't be able to use this cooler since I have a Prolimatech Megahalems. I won't get a crappy CPU cooler just for this.

  • @boredgunner if you have water cooling for cpu or down draft cpu cooler like AXP-140 you will be fine ;)

  • @boredgunner you can mount this to face down instade of facing the cpu :D so no worry of big cpu cooler;;)

  • By the way I'd be using a much faster fan on the Spitfire if I get one... preferably a Scythe Ultra Kaze 120mm x 38mm. If it isn't supported by default, I'll have to make it fit which wouldn't be too hard.

  • Hmm... I guess I should buy this. The problem with Arctic Cooling Accelero coolers is that they raise VRAM temps. So this can lower GPU temps and VRAM temps with the upcoming VRAM cooler. I have an EVGA GTX 480 running at 900/1800/1050, 1.15 VGPU, and 405 KHz PWM frequency. I know I can go higher if I had better cooling. The stock heat sink can't take much more.

  • @boredgunner Wow at those clocks you better be running that fan at 100 percent all the time, have a dedicated fan on it, and even then I wouldn't be surprised if it failed very soon.

  • can you crossfire/sli with this cooler? it looks kind a hard with that big heatsink.

  • @ysatria yes it may be possible, but it will not be possible to crossfire with 2 spitfires XD , what vga card are you looking?

  • :( i thought it would have been atleast 75c

i guess ill have to wait for artic cooling

anyways i really think ur cpu cooling selutions are great but these hae been around for a long time and u need a new HS

  • @CRAKIZGOOD Our VRM for GTX480 is not ready, but it will be soon,

once ready, you will see further drop in temperature of the GTX480 :D

  • @Thermalrightonutube

ur telling me that the GPU heatsink is also cooling the vrm

if so then this is great news :) (because vrm heats up allot )

thx for replying :) looking forward for ur next video

  • Great job, nice getting the gtx480 under control. Btw is there any extra modules in the works like the one that 5870, a VRM for the 480?

  • @Pabula Yes , it will be ready soon , so keep watch :) , please click on the bar below the video to see this testing details

  • So from what I can gather, we're looking at a ~17 - 20C temperature drop with the Spitfire as well as a significant audible noise drop from 6000rpm to 1600rpm. Not bad :)

  • Would it be possible for you guys to list the temperature differences between the stock GeForce GTX 480 heatsink and the ThermalRight SpitFire? I'm sure the viewers would appreciate it. Thanks!

  • @AuDioFreaK39 yes it's in the Video info, you have to click the bar below the Video and you will see :)

  • i didint know that a 650 watt psu could handle a gtx 480

  • @buyukavsar yes it's possible, but it won't work if you have SLI GTX480
