  • I'm very new to this show, but...pardon me I thought Sara Ramirez was the original Lady or am I wrong?

  • @maipigenDK Sara Ramirez was in he original Broadway cast. This is the London cast.

  • what are these clips from? And where can I get the entire documentary?

  • The Palace Theatre, now home to Priscilla - Queen of the Desert. (I wish shows here In New York put things on top of our marquees, like the Grail or a stiletto)

  • I love you Patsy...

  • The guy playing Lancelot was in the Office!

  • SARA RAMEREZ IS WAYYYY BETTER! (terrible spelling)

  • I saw this over a bloody fortnight

  • @ 0:33 I didn't vote for 'im

  • Christopher Sieber isnt British, is he

  • Why do i get the feeling that Terry Gilliam did not like Spamalot?

  • i really so sorry for the girl playing the lady of the lake...you can't follow sara

  • @spicywinniepooh Are you only judging her performance from this video? Because, trust me, she is just as fabulous as Sara! (I, personally, prefer Hannah - but they are equally talented.)

  • XD Nice!

  • i love tim curry.. he is soooo hot =)

  • "you wish you werent born!!!!" lmao i miss spamalot!!

  • i like sara batter than her, but she's still pretty good. gottta love not dead fred :)

  • I nearly died laughing when I saw this! I don't think it was the original London cast, but it was still hilarious! XD

  • I would have so loved to see this! But only this cast would make it great! Love the Pythons and TIm!

  • i just love tim!!

  • Oh, God. I'd forgotten he was in Clue! He was incredible!

  • It's so upsetting to see that this left London and that the planned UK tour was cancelled. Hopefully next year they put it on tour or at least bring it back to the West End soon.

  • We went to see it the weekend before the final performance in London....shame they didnt even make a DVD!

  • they are talking about it, putting it on DVD

  • WHOOHOO! ITS NOT YET DEAD!

  • OMG how I would love to see this

  • My 70-year-old mother stood in line for over 2 hours just so she could be one of the first 100 people to buy tickets...her reward was a coconut! After the show she told me: that was the best show I have EVER seen! And she was right!

  • TIM♥♥♥♥

  • Haha... "Jesus Christ, Goddamnit it!"

  • She can't compare with Sara to save her life...she's totally ruined the part.

  • I'm seeing this later this month! So excited!

  • lol this is really funny ....lol hehehe i like tim curry ^^

  • Hannah Waddingham = goddess of sound.

  • sara is better id say but my aunt was a costume person on the us tour when hannah and some of the cast came over, it was excellent, then i saw sara and them in shubert both shows were out standing

  • I am so sad that this show closed on Broadway but it just came to my town and i saw it at the theater.

  • Christopher Sieber is so funny!!!

  • ERIC IDLE !♥

  • Oh and just reading some of the comments. . . Are you able to send me the link to the 45min clip?

    -cheers mate

  • what did terry g do to his arm?

  • It's really weird watching them perform without their costumes on

  • OMG I LOOOOOOOOVE TIM CURRY!!! I always seem to cry when I see or hear him. That is how much I LOVE him!

  • Saw this Nov. 21st for my birthday in NY, it was AMAZING!!!

  • fucking IT the clown lol, scared me so bad as a kid... xD

I met Tim luckily though, he's such a nice guy and really funny

  • I saw the original cast on Broadway. Also, in english, we were watching the movie "Clue", and Tim Curry was in that, so it was weird to see him as young as he was then, and he is a lot older now.

  • I can never see him without thinking about Dr. Frankenfurter, personally.

  • OH my word! it may be me..but the guy in the white at 5:10 looked slightly like Graham Chapmen, its probibly just me though.

  • Graham Chapman died a long while ago, right? I met him in the 80s.

  • Ya he died in 1989..2 years before i was born. Im just saying that the guy looks a bit like him..lol

  • Aw, yes . . . I see what you mean! My bad. Oops! He was a very funny and kind guy. I loved chatting with him. I worked an an agency that represented him.

  • OH MY GOD! THESE PEOPLE ARE AMAZING, ESPECIALLY HANNAH!

I am SOOOOOOOOO impressed with how well these people sing just in rehearsal. OMG it takes my breath away. WOW!

I had the chance to see Spamalot with Hannah Waddingham and Clay Aiken and it was such an amazing combo! I just love these two people. They are so talented and so is everyone else in this brillant show!

  • Hahaha Cameltoe! Never noticed that!

Probably because I was in the last rows in Ny...

  • I saw this show last night in Toronto. I laughed my ass off! The Lady of the Lake steals the show!

  • 2:48-2:50 lol

  • Hannah Waddingham is fantastic!

  • Would have agreed with you two days ago. Then I saw the show last night.

It's truly bloody brilliant. Seriously gut-busting funny and wickedly entertaining....I was purist as you too apparently are. But Idle fully realized the spirit of Monty Python.

  • I was quite unsure this musical was going to be any good before it premiered. I thought....."oh dear, don't touch the brilliant film the Pythons (all of them) made"; but then I saw it and... well it is a top job. Although I have to say that the original cast was the best choice of actors. Here in London recent choices are a bit....wrong. It is damaging the musical.

  • @scottandrewbrass Ok, Fuck you.

  • Tim curry+eric Idle+Monty python=boggled mind.

although i dont like the knights of the round table though...

  • Christopher Sieber (Galahad) looks like Jason Segel.

  • Sometimes he reminds me of Brendan Fraser, mainly with the wig when he pulls those funny faces in 'The Song That Goes Like This' (Brendan Fraser in George Of The Jungle)

  • @IJVin Ah, finally someone notices too! I saw a vid of spamalot and I thought it was Jason Segel at first :P

  • @IJVin oh good, im not the only person who thinks that. i asked my mom and she thought i was crazy. lol

  • @IJVin I was thinking that too!!

  • Did this show start in the US or UK?

  • United States. I believe formally in March 2005 (correct me if I'm wrong). London saw the arrival of Spamalot in October 2006. In both places, Broadway and the West End (London) Tim Curry was King Arthur.

  • @eleanorpowell2007

I listen to an interview I found that was a resource for a wiki called UNO where Tim Curry was actually interviewed. I think Tim said it started in England becuse it was done as the movie was performed. Then when it moved to the States some of the scenes were writtten outsuch as the whitch scene, and adapted it for Broadway when they putin scenes such a the song You Won't Make it on Broadway.

  • @malisemary1 Oh, thank you! Any chance the interview might be watched on youtube?

  • @eleanorpowell2007

Sorry, I do not think there is a way. Anyway I am not savvy with that sort of thing. To correct my self it is not UNO that is another interview I found. The one I found is from American Theater Wing.

  • tim curry is still hott

  • ahha i love watching behind the scenes of spamalot. It reminds me of my drama class, because everyone is just having fun and acting.

  • I want to see this so badly. The drama club went to see this in New York a few months ago, but I couldn't go with them. Makes me want to cry. U.U *sighs* Oh well, I'll see it one day. I forever praise the guy who brought this to the theatre.

  • this lady of the lake is now on broadway, and i saw her tonight!!!!

  • I saw it (also in Madison Wi) last night! Ahh it rocked!

  • I just saw this show in Madison, Wisconsin tonight. I thought I'd peed myself.

  • ahaha thanks for posting this i laughed the whole way through! cant wait to see it in london soon:)

  • I'm not sure it works in London. I heard that half the jokes in it are about Broadway. Then again, obscure cultural references never stopped some of us Americans from liking Monty Python.

  • It seems to work, only problem is all the new main casting, the musical itself remains very popular, but the new actors are....ahem, not the best choice. It might damage the musical quite soon.

  • nah i saw it recently, hannah waddingham and tim curry are brilliant

  • actually the broadway related jokes are just changed to showbiz i.e yuo wont succeed on Broadway is you wont succeed in showbiz.

and OMG Spamalot is closing Jan 3rd!

  • spamalots closing! thats retarded.

  • I saw the London performance on the opening night (before the proper one with celebrities) and the whole audience absolutely loved it. We even cheered the chap who sweeped the stage during the interval.

Best bit was the end when we all stood up and cheered the cast who looked very taken aback by the audience's huge response. It was fantastic.

  • I was supposed to be there, that night......ahhh, couldn't go in the end...long story. I'm glad you had a great time, one of those 'once in a lifetime' opportunities in the theatre world :)

  • Yes indeed. Sorry you missed the opening - hope you have seen it anyway though. :D

  • Terry is a brilliant mind. See "TideLand"

  • Love it!!!!

    d=(^o^)=b

Lol that guy in the Not Dead Yet part looks a bit like Graham Chapman

    Bless him

  • just saw this in new york....it was sooooo funny

especially his name is lancelot and you won't succeed on broadway...lol

  • Fetcher la vache :D

So funny to see, if you go to london, this is a must see ;)

  • Saw it in Las Vegas at The Wynn last month. It was excellent!

  • Christian Bolre <3 He's too awesome. He's the best Historian and Not Yet Dead Fred!

  • omg i love tnis

  • Tim Curry+Spamalot=*dies*

  • CAMLTOE! haha

  • that was a lot of fun!

  • Jesus Christ God damn it . . lol

  • Lucky you! I feel so stupid, living in London, walking by the Palace Theatre every week of my life and I managed to miss it when Tim Curry was in the show. I wanted to get best tickets with a glorious view instead of watching from the gods and time passed quickly and lost my chance. Grrr... Never again.

  • I went to see it with the original London cast for my 13th birthday and I loved it! Thanks for posting this!

  • Anyone interested in the full 45 minute show, please, do send me a message and I will reply you will the link to the entire documentary for the making of Spamalot. It is uploaded on a different website. I cannot post links here, so a Private Message is the only way. Cheers!!

  • This is a documentary focused on the making of Spamalot, so is more about Eric Idle, the Pythons, ideas that were never used and some bits about actors. Tim Curry's bits are pretty much all here, with the exception of a couple comments he made. I can send you by Private Message a link where you can find the whole show, which is 45 minutes long and is really great. You should see it!

  • Dear Eleanor Powell2007,

I'd love to see it. I just saw it on Broadway, and it was fabulous!

    ucrfl

  • Great to see that, thanks!!! Do you have more? Especially with Tim Curry? :)

  • so funny... I love Monty Python. british humour is the best

  • Great video. Very enjoyable to watch behind-the-scenes action. :)
