Mansun are without a doubt one of the most underestimated bands of the 90s, along with Vast, such a shame neither of them got the recognition they truely deserved.
Great tune from a very patchy album. Nowhere near as good as Ok Computer. Negative and Legacy are great songs but Mansun to me never had a solid identity and I can only disappoint you was, frankly, disappointing
I agree with crieswhicharewings, Six is one of the best albums of the 90's and doesn't get the respect it deserves it get's along with the Manic's 'Holy Bible' in my opinion.
My god "Holy Bible" was the sound track of my life around 18-19, loved it. In fact the manics in general where my fav band. Eye liner was the way forward back in the late 90's :)
What a great song from an absolutely brilliant album.Six is a must buy!! Such a shame when they split when they had so much more to offer. Attack of the Grey Lantern and Six are great legacies though, not to mention the other albums
First time I've heard this song (I only own "Attack of the Grey Lantern" & "Little Kix"... ) but I love it! I need to work on owning their entire back-catalogue... Brilliant band.
One of my favourite lines, not for it`s meaning but it` s honesty and for making people realise that nobody does actually gives a shit once all is said and done.
ah 1998. What a year, I went on a round the world trip. Six by Mansun is an AMAZING album, in my all-time top 10. I never tire of listening to it. AOTGL was ok, had some great singles, but SIX was just a complete body of work, easily better then OK Computer in my opinion. Shame they couldn't keep it up...
I love that all the Mansun fans here are still clearly so into the band, as much as ever, despite the fact that they've been pretty much written out of history by the mainstream and the media. keep the faith guys.
just my opinion mate .like i say i hate his voice but imagine if liam sung this song in 1994,when he didnt sound like a lennon impersonator . no, this isnt as good as slide away/listen up/or most of def maybe, champagne supernova etc but its better 75% of oasis new album and a lot of oasis older stuff aswell. ru one of those "loyal" oasis nuts who thinks the new album is great. bar a few moments of genius, the album is shit mate liams a shit live singer has been 4 years.thinks turnin ups enuf!
ah right got the wrong end of the stick mate.the amount of replies from oasis fans tellin me i know nothing coz i think all of oasis albums bar def maybe are 50/60% shit and the latest only has 3/4 pretty good songs. if oasis came back with a single like legacy people would be goin crazy. the guitar intro sounds like oasis bside "alive" .mansun very underated band ,never realised they had so many deep tunes.
i do partly agree futrestarofengland oasis's new album is shit! but i'd have to say what's the story morning glory was a classic album full of great songs and standing on the shoulders of giants wasn't bad. i think they have got worse and worse over the last 4-5 years.
I remember the first time I heard it. At a friends house, an imported EP, just 14 years old and the single was brand new. I loved it too bits then, but it faded from memory (how it could, I'll never know). Now, almost 10 years later, it's still one of the greatest songs ever written in my book. I'll never let it fade again, Paul.
i just go goose pimply every time i hear this song. I played it over and over one night. Lost track of the time ..... was three 3 hours solid!!!! Never get bored of this and other mansun songs. Homage to the guys x
Yeah Six is one of the best albums of all time. It has a sort of middle-age feel. It is really long and experimental but easily accesible. Every song has so much melodic changes and experiment. It's too bad this album was so overlloked. It deserved as much attention as let's say Ok Computer. I guess lyrics like 'I look downards, feeling negative. Anti-everything and I'm emotionally raped by Jesus didn't help much either ahah.
This should have been the final song of "Six". Pretty damn special. Never knew there was a video so chuffed to bits to find it!
Paul has the second greatest voice on the planet (only supassed by Neil Hannon, but that's just my opinion). His range is superb, every word and note he sings is so crisp and clean and clear and just so f*cking brilliant!
I love this song and the 'six'album i re-bought mine the other day in oxford street and the manager of the shop was like''ah!another mansun fan, this albums amazing!''
Television has to be the best song on the album though.
This track is great and the video excellent and original. Its a good example of how so many good bands end up so quickly. Shame realy and its true nobody cares when your gone. however my Mansun CD has been played several times since 1996.
Same here!! :D :D :D, got all the albums plus the best-of with the DVD, and "Kelptomania" and none of their tracks date, while still sounding fresh today!!.
I saw Mansun at Reading 99 and I still talk about it till this day! Honestly, Paul Draper's voice is probably the best I've ever heard and Chad's guitar playing was so perfect and effortless I was stunned! I ended up afterwards sitting in my tent wondering what the f**k just happened! These guys will always be amazing.
I love this video, the 1st time I saw it, I didn't know the name of the band or the song. This is the 2nd time I've seen this video in about 8years, Thanx for posting it!

waaaaaaaat???
leave your house now and don't come home until you own a copy of Six.
When you do come home with said copy of Six, put it on repeat for the remainder of your whole day and don't leave the house.
You'll know why after you've done it.
Six - simply the best album by anyone ever, period.
