  • Used to love this game, great level editor too :)

  • I had this at around 5 years old. I thought it was mario.. or at least pretended, my Dad wouldn't get us a Nintendo.

  • @tom77092

The Sentinel was ace. Revs (another Crammond game) was also excellent.

Used to love Asteroids Deluxe on the Beeb, as well as Elite (obviously) and Cholo. Castle Quest was also great fun.

  • used to play this on my friends bbc micro (i had a c64). Best game on the system. But wasnt it just acorns version of Chuckie Egg?

  • Hmm, looks similiar to games of that era such as Nuclear Nick, Bounty Bob, Mr Robot, etc...

  • A complete classic, many a weekend was spent round my friend's house, using the editor to come up with develish new levels.

  • It was perfect for learning how to program. Fast and structured Basic.

  • lol i remember playing this when i was 4-5 years old, loved it

never realized it was named after a drugs untill today

  • Wow, blast from the past. I played this at school when the teacher went out of the room, and we were supposed to be using turtle graphics lol

  • Nice one bruvaaa!!! This and Chucky egg were amazing!

  • OMG this game takes me back a LONG time ago lol

  • wow just been talking about playing this in school today , terrible machine (remember computer lessons in school arrrghh) But this game was the one shining light , it was a rip off of all time great the legendary Manic Miner/Jet Set Willy but still great nonetheless. I had forgot there was an editor . thanks for posting anyway.

Flame away BBC Micro Fanboys !! the Speccy was the dogs ! Some lucky schools even had them instead of BBC's .

  • Hahaha, yeah, you're asking for a flaming!

At least the BBC had a real keyboard, proper graphics and sound and had disc and network support built in. Personally, if I had to use one or the other for University work, I'd chose the BBC. If I were just playing games in my bedroom on a portable telly, I guess it'd be the Speccy...

At least one good thing came out of the BBC Micro and that's the ARM processor, the CPU that powers most mobile phones including the iPhone.

  • The BBC had a decent range of games - lots of faithful arcade, atari and intellivision ports. I remember doing some basic programming with it too, even though I was still very young.

Just making a point in a civilised discussion. I'm by no means flaming and I don't quite qualify as a fanboy, being a woman and all.

  • The BBC had the best and fastest Basic for learning programming. Bit expensive though.

  • @DamianSix66

No, the BBC was technically a superior machine to the Spectrum. But the Spectrum had loads of superb games...arguably the most creative of any of the 8-bits. (I was a 64 boy myself.)

  • @KaitainCPS One thing we are all agreed on is Magic Mushrooms is/was an ace game . People try to say Little Big Planet is innovative but Magic Mushrooms had a level editor and full game way back in the early days . I had a lot more fun with MM than LBP too .

  • unlimited gameplay as you could create and save your own screens-

    thanks for uploading

  • This was my very first game, thanks for posting it. Monsters was my second one.

  • i think i played this one

  • This game was awesome...I remember playing it as a kid

  • Classic game... I used to love this :D
