@yegtheegg Lol thank you! Yeah all that hair is long gone now, too hot for it here in Texas where winter means 50 degrees on a cold day lol. Thanks again!
@lostkid1000 Thanks! Antoine listed all the tunings to all his songs on his website, if you're interested. This song is played in F#AC#G#BE. Do keep in mind that Antoine recorded his version on a baritone so it's not the same tuning. But that's the tuning I played it in here. Thanks again!
You're holding the groove, you obviously love the song, and have spent time to hone your hearing and technical playing skills. It's a pleasure to my ears, I love Antoine's work as well.
Nicely done mate, I'm very envious. I heard the song long ago and it became an instant favourite. Definitely did the song justice and the fact you can put it together by ear is mighty impressive!
@Mordecai36 dude, that's awesome! i have a breedlove at mi casa and i kinda had a feelin that this was one, you are so right on about breedloves, AWESOME guitars! :)
Not perfect, but still great, especially since you learned it by ear. good work though. Do you grow your nails out? That helps a lot, trust me. Also I think you strike the strings a lot harder than other guitarists which can isnt necessarily a bad thing but it makes it a lot easier to play when you have looser hands. Just thought id give some constructive criticism. keep playin
Honestly, I'm honored to be able to play as I do. Two years ago, I remember telling a friend how I'd "probably never be able to play like that", referring to Antoine and Mckee's technical style... well, I'm glad I never gave up and practiced hard these two short years because the better you get, the more fun it is to play, and that's what it's all about.
im actually amazed i was going to sit down and try figure this out but between teaching i dident have the time i figured out afew of his new songs tho you played this pretty well well done mate its always a good feeling to learn a song with your ears makes it feel more like your own song and you have more fun playing it i bet you you will still play this in years to come
Hey thanks a lot man! Yeah, no doubt it does feel a bit like my own song. And the funny thing is, I wrote my first fingerstyle composition right after learning this song. I think it's pretty beneficial to learn with your ears. I've got a few more I've recently learned by ear again and I'll be uploading soon. I truly hope I'll be playing this song for years! Thanks again!
Thank you so much Mr. Brasil!! How's your side of the hemisphere doing? haha, yeah I never expected to ever play this song, but it was a blast to learn it, and I learn something new every time I play it. Thanks again!
whats up again jake, hey man i just wanted to let you know there is a SICK piece of software that is perfect for figuring this song out called "transcribe" just search it on google, and you can change the pitch of the song and slow it all the way to 15% speed and it still keeps a perfectly clear tone with no distortion or static, i suck at that song because theres no video to look at but ive used it for like ebon coast and it works perfectly you should check it out! im not a spammer btw haha
Oh hey man! I'm sorry I missed your comment somehow... Sweet dude, I'll have to check it out! I used a program called "The Amazing Slow Downer" to figure out the first riff because that's all that the trial version would allow, haha. It wasn't that great of a program, I use to use it in high school for songs and figured it would get me started on Existence. It was a little distorted too. But yeah that sounds awesome man, I'm totally gonna check that out, thanks!
Thanks man. Somebody on an Andy Mckee forum posted a list of all the tunings for pretty much all his songs except the new ones. When I recorded this, I had my guitar tuned in E. Now I play it in F#. So the tuning is F#AC#G#BE.
Hey thanks! I might tab it out eventually, but as of now, I don't even really fully comprehend everything I'm doing while playing this song. I learned it so fast that I have it memorized as pure muscle memory. I'm not even sure if I can break it down enough to tab it. But, maybe in the future I can. Thanks again for the comment!
Thank you. I'm actually working on my first composition right now. I'm not sure when it'll be finished, but when it is, I'll be sure to upload it. Thanks a lot for the support, I appreciate it!
Thank you! No doubt, my playing has evolved dramatically since I first started playing Dufour's songs. That's why there's a "Thank you, Antoine" at the end of this video, haha. Thanks for the comment and for watching.
Thank you! I can't believe I did that either. It was kinda weird. That's the fastest I've ever really learned one of his songs. You'd think learning it by ear would take longer but I guess not. I'm gonna learn as many of his songs by ear as I can, haha.
Haha dude, I'm flabbergasted! I can't believe you were able to pick out the whole song just by listening. You've got some serious skills. Hopefully I'll be able to play like you eventually!
Dude I was just watching your Ebon Coast cover the other day, you've got great right hand technique man. Seriously, that's one of the hardest obstacles in fingerstyle, and you've gotten around it quite well.
what is the tunning for the song?
DimebagRazorback123 1 week ago
@DimebagRazorback123 F#AC#G#BE I think I might've played it here half a step down... I can't remember. If so, it would be FG#CGA#D#

@bbmello1 Well, I tried to play this the other day, and butchered it, haha. But yes one day, if it's alright with Dufour, I'll try to tab it out.

whats the tuning on this song?
LuKster138 1 year ago
Since I don't have a baritone guitar, the tuning is different than the album track. But here I play it in G# (F#AC#G#BE)
