Maybe she's wrong, it's sad and no one should ever have to experience their own child committing suicide, but I doubt it was singulair's fault. Chances are their were some hidden problems with the kid that he kept from his parents, children especially teenagers are masters of hiding their emotional well-being. He may of looked fine on the outside and acted so, but maybe he was buulyed at school or some other cause that is the culprit.
My wife took this medicine and within weeks was spiraling out of control she had crying spells she couldn't control, thoughts of suicide and had told me she felt as if she were outside looking in. it took 2-weeks of being off of this medication to feel normal again. her allegist kept telling her there was no way the medicine could make her feel like that. obviously he was wrong
i am just got this prescrition of this drug but ever since they told i had to take this drug I've my doubts about it i won't take it as it is i am depressed and my mood swings arent so stable right now
I think that it's a coincidence that a few people commited suicide after they took the medicen, i mean, if you look at how many people who have taken it and been okay vs. people who took it and commited suicide, it's probably no more astronomical than any other random medicen.
I was prescribed Singulair and started having really horrible dreams I gave it up because of them, I'd sooner have asthma!, incidentally since then I gave up dairy products and havent used my inhaler in almost 2 years. I had been told to get used to the idea of taking medication for the rest of life.
I don't think it was singular, its not like antidepressants like paxil or anyting, I think that kid was hiding his depression and just couldn't take it anymore , coincedentally he started taking singular.
that's possible but.. other people have been having problems too. Or maybe this report just made people realize it could be the asthma medicine. And then there was a link to a bunch of problems. I know not everyone had those symptoms while taking it though, so it's not like you should panic unless you've really had problems since you started it. I don't think it's something that happends in a couple weeks either from what I've heard >.>
I actually do take this drug and for a while had been wondering why I would so easily get mad at people, like I thought something was wrong with me, because I am fine when off this medicine. But I now realize this was from the medicine. Most sincere feelings of sorrow go out to the family of the young boy.
I've been taking Singulair for 2 years but after the most recent refill 2 weeks ago, I've been screaming at people for no reason and having some anger problems.
Anyone else see right through this? Asthma patients are usually associated with depression and anxiety. This news report caused people to have a asthma attack.
I took Singulair for over two years. On my second year, I began having severe depression and attempted suicide once. I began seeing a therapist and began taking Ritalin. As a result I had was taking a total of four different drugs and about six pills a day. =(
A year later, I stopped Singulair and was prescribed an alternate medicine. I'm quite fine now. hmm.
I am taking it and since then have had more mood swings(was diagnosed with Bipolar II), tried to commit suicide and did self injury. Can I sue if it doesn't say on my perscripition those are the possible side effects?
I just found out about this today..I've been taking the drug for a few years and I've had no suicidal thoughts.. I have very disturbing dreams(nightmares) when I take singulair.
Intresting, I gave up taking the drug because of the nightmares, I also gave up dairy products and don't take any medication at all and have been symptom free for 2 years.
