thanks a lot. I had this guitar set up specifically to be in this tuning. It wont sound right if you just drop it down. I have thicker strings put on and the nut notched out then it was set up to be this low. have you tried that?

I have a big hole in my jeans too! Anyway, what amp is that? My digitech RP250 that I got off of ebay sounds shitty through my fender practice amp. Also, when I bought the pedal, it didnt come with a usb thing. Do you know where I can find one?

Make sure you change the setting on the back of the digitech (a little black push button) from mixer to amp. That should help. Also, u can prb get the usb cord from any computer store, maybe even a store like target or something.

Incidently, In Flames (my favorite band) uses this tuning with 24 3/4 in. scale guitars (Gibsons).

But again this is the first time I have specificaly seen a Viper in droped Bb... other than my own.

Yeah, alot of people do that with sevens. But what is unusual is to see a ordinary (non baritone) Viper, which has a much shorter scale length (24 3/4 in.) than a 7 string which is either 25 1/2 or 27 inches. This means much less tension withour really heavy strings. On my Viper I use a .70 for the low Bb.

Again, may I ask, what gauge do you use for Bb on your viper?

yeah, it was a stretch for me and my tech but we did it and it worked pretty weel. i dont have it in that tuning anymore (my band doesnt play that low) so I took em off, but i can look at the old package and get back to ya.
