Anyone can be a model. Just stick to your dream and dont give up, im just a tad over 5'3 and im doing runway on the 8th of september for debenhams. RUNWAY!!!! and the other models are like 5'11. If i can do it so can any of you's. Good luck everyone x
@awsomeme89 I think you still could do some modeling, even though you might not make it to the very top.. ask some agencies what they think, it might still work out! Not all models are tall etc.
You are going to stop on this side? So always, always, always, always, ALWAYS, stop on that that side... So you don't have to think (points to head) about it anymore ;-)
I'm 15 and I'm tall enought, I guess because people say I'm very tall, and I'm thin.... so I think I just have to learn the pose and the walk... some tips?
Email agencies pictures and specs. Keep doing that and your bound to land one pretty quick. If you got the look, it's really not that hard to get in to.
Hey im 12 and 5,10 im about 120lbs. I've been trying to get into the modeling indestry with the help of my sister cause she is in the modeling buissness herself. She's been helping me with everything except posing, obviously the body structure so do you have any tips?:)
I'm 15, 5'2'' & I weigh like 104lbs, I want to be a model so bad! but since I'm too short, I want to be really good when I audition, so they can't tell me no because of my height. I have no experience whatsoever, I'm trying to learn it over the internet!
When you stop at the end of the runway, don't you poise the opposite way that you turn around, then shift your hips, poise and walk back down the runway?
im 13 about to be 14 in 3 months im 5'4 and weight around 94. i want to be a model when i grow up and live in newyork but im sorta scared to follow the wrong path any advised?
its a way to show off the clothes and making yourself look elegant or however the designer wishes the clothes to be portrayed. They tell you how they want their clothes to be 'shown off.' Basically the model's job is to make anything they put on you look fashionable and desirable. Often times its the model that 'sells the clothes' not the clothes themselves.
well i grew at the age of twelve and thirteen to 5 10 and know at 15 im 6 ft and my parents are 5 10 and 6 4 so it runs in my family but my friend is 5 10 and her mom is really short so its possible
the minimum is usually 5'8'' or 9''. hopefully, you're not done growing yet. eating really healthy is a good way to the nutrients you need to grow as much as possible :) and wear heels, lol
xD i just started puberty i think in January, now its September/or October when you reply to this comment... I just turned 13 years old in September. How can I get taller?
as far as i know, you can't make yourself any taller than the maximum height your body type can achieve. but i've read that stretching and excercise can help you reach that maximum. getting plenty of sleep and eating well also helps. i don't know if your parents are tall, but if they are, it's pretty likely that you will be too :)
Well it depents on your age. But you can also just look at your parents. If thei are tall, you will be tall, but even that doesn't say anything. Meaning I saw some 'short' parents with tall childrens. Don't worry too mutch. But remember, keep your back straight (mutch more healthier) But don't worry too mutch
thirteen to 5 10 and know at 15 im 6 ft and my parents are 5 10 and 6 4 so it runs in my family but my friend is 5 10 and her mom is really short so its possible
your mind has a great power of your body - just keep on envisioning yourself and feeling yourself to be the height you'd like to be each night before you fall asleep, except to grow to your desired height and you will be stimulating the chemicals in your body to grow your body and be the way you'd want it to be :)
@AngelLuvsU2 well depends how old u r and how high you are my sister is young and im 5'6 and i bet she can grow a few more inches when she is 14 i guess
actually, i model and have a manager, and have met with agents from elite and new york model management. the ideal height for a model is 5'10", with 34"24"34" measurements. the girl wearing polkadots seems about that size.
This is my sister's account but whatever. My name's lauren. I recently got signed with Rock Modeling in Madison, Wisconsin, and here's what I know. For acting, short girls are ideal because most of the men are short. For modeling, 5'9" is pretty much the minimum, except maybe for some commercial/catalogue modeling. For runway, 5'9" is pretty much midget. Most runway girls are about 5'11" or taller. Ideal height for runway is actually about 6 feet. I'm 5'9" and hope i grow.
some girls who are commenting who want to model but are like 5"2-5"4. You can model but finding work will be very difficult because most commercial models are about 5"7.Runway you can forget about because height and weight are key when casting directors look for girls.
Well, I'm 5'9, almost 5'10. This means that I'm tall enough, but I think that I'm too heavy.
It's actually stupid that you have to be so and so tall. I mean, even if you look like a dwarf doesn't mean that you aren't cute. And why is it necessary to weigh so little? That has nothing to do with wearing clothes, or?
well actually the camera adds ten pounds Plus most designers make only sample sizes for their shows which range from a size 0 to a size 2. If you do not fit their design you can forget about walking their show. That is why many models are skinny the way they are, to get jobs and bookings.
the height is required because it gives a more dramatic effect to the garment as oppossed to a sort model wearig it. tal models make it stand out with their long ass legs
one reason why they want you to be so thin besides what others mentioned is that they dont really want the clothes to FIT the model, or be SNUG in any places, they want the clothes to DRAPE. so the point is kind of for the girl to be a walking clothing hanger, and it displays the clothes without looking/fitting strangely in any place.
Haha. I love how funny the comments from ford is. Thank you so much to ford for posting these videos. I learn alot from them as a 14 year old girl, desperate to make it in the fashion world. (almost 5'7", 110lbs. 35-24-35)
I have always wanted to do high fashion modeling. However I am only 5'2 or 3 and 15 years old. I weigh 105 pounds. I modeled for the Leos dancewear company a couple years ago and had so much fun. I hope to pursue modeling as a career one day!
moss is a one in a million. - and was already established before she stopped growing taller. and yeah, the minimum requirement for high fashion is 5'9" though some agencies will take their chances on someone who is 5'8" - which is why i still wonder how tall the girl in that video is.
i'd love to be a model! im only 13 right now tho. how do u get into modeling rlly? it seams hard because theres so many ppl in the business and also so many agencies
I'll probably pick up modeling after im 18, because my mother is ver much against it. I'm 16, 107 lbs. 33", 26", 34". somewhere around there. Idon't remeber oh and I'm 5'6".
I love this type of stuff. I've always wanted to be a model. However, I'm only 5'2". I don't want to give up on my dream, because maybe I could do print.
If I was a fashion designer I would get get a bunch of stout hairy men, dress them in my latest lingerie collection and have them prance like little happy gnomes down the runway. Guys in Bras = awesome!
I'm short myself. 5 foot. But I did a runway show only once and because i was so short i got more attention. might not make sence to the high fashion community but being different looking works more sometimes then fitting into the girls next door thing
the fact is that you're not supposed to look like you're walking on the street. most of the fashion shows sport untraditional designs that you never see people wear on the streets as well...
I wish there was a market for petit women that are 5'2" somewhere in modeling. Because i'd love to do couture.. but couture isn't designed for my size. But anyways i do love watching!
honey there is a market for your height in modeling, maybe not couture but commercial modeling is a wide market. if u have what it takes u can look at agencies that specifically look for commercial models.
I wish I could be a runway model, I'm skinny but i'm only 5'3''

I love this type of stuff. I've always wanted to be a model. However, I'm only 5'2". I don't want to give up on my dream, because maybe I could do print.
angeleye1998 3 years ago
make me a supermodel!
celia10 3 years ago
Im 5 ft 8 do you have to be 6 foot and over to model?
beyonceknows 3 years ago 2
5'9 is the industry average.
Honey at least you're closer than me, I'm still stuck at 5'2!
guiltyglamour 3 years ago
im sorry, ill never make it anyway cause im too "big" for the industry. Im a size 10 in UK sizes, altho i work out alot. i wana be a model so bad.
beyonceknows 3 years ago
anything less than a uk size 10 is very unattractive. FACT .

This is bollocks.
If I was a fashion designer I would get get a bunch of stout hairy men, dress them in my latest lingerie collection and have them prance like little happy gnomes down the runway. Guys in Bras = awesome!

Super. We'll see you in Milan, then this autumn?

i should've walked like this at my old job at the packaging plant as i had to move from packing line to packing line
TaxEvasion 3 years ago
Damn right. I should start walking like this in the mens public restroom, McDonald's and of course, the bowling alley.
DrewJ16 3 years ago 3
lol yeah the bowling alley would be hilarious! if i had done this at my old job at the plant they would've kicked my butt with a forklift.
TaxEvasion 3 years ago
this is sooo unfair. im short, but I really do the walk!:(
nonojune 3 years ago
I'm short myself. 5 foot. But I did a runway show only once and because i was so short i got more attention. might not make sence to the high fashion community but being different looking works more sometimes then fitting into the girls next door thing

...I only focus on how do they walk...not what the guy talk@@
anyway, I can't believe it will require that much hard work to walk like a model@@
n213978745 3 years ago
the fact is that you're not supposed to look like you're walking on the street. most of the fashion shows sport untraditional designs that you never see people wear on the streets as well...

he's a really good coach.

It's funny that it's always the men teaching the women how to walk. Remember RuPaul giving 'real' models makeup classes. It was hilarious!
robertantonnyc 3 years ago
he is adorable :)

Haha, this guy is great!

Yay! I can walk like a model now. :)

I wish there was a market for petit women that are 5'2" somewhere in modeling. Because i'd love to do couture.. but couture isn't designed for my size. But anyways i do love watching!
sjs5769 3 years ago 4
me too! I'd love to do couture modeling but I'm 5'3 so that sucks... what if u wore like really high heels?
lisalovesandrew 3 years ago
honey there is a market for your height in modeling, maybe not couture but commercial modeling is a wide market. if u have what it takes u can look at agencies that specifically look for commercial models.
SugarCoatedKitten 3 years ago 2
and print modeling is wide open and has even more exposure.
