My school's band played this at every game this year, and now that I remember that it's in a movie that I loved growing up, I'm in love with my school's band even more than before. :D
OMG I loved this movie when I was a kid, I used to watch it every weekend when I was in primary school, I still even have the video of it on VHS. Haven't watched it in years though, still a great classic.
I saw this movie in theaters when i was 10 and loved it, i had a thing for Crysta since including a few naughty fantasies of her as a teen. It's a fun environmentalist animated movie.
Haha, I remember watching this so many times as a kid, and even though Zak was cool, I always wanted Krysta to end up with Pips. Guess I just like underdogs.
I love how this is all supposed to take place in Australia yet all of the characters have American accents. (except for Hexxus who has an English accent.)
@CoruscantSunset Avatar is similar to a lot of shit. It's a hollywood story structure. A lot of movies are of the same stories, but told in different settings and ways.
Yes! I was looking for this clip. I saw this in the theatres when I was a girl. This whole scene with Zak playing "Land of a 1000 Dances" for Crysta and all the fairies had a huge impact on me musically. This is the way people need to expose kids to classic rock songs- by putting them into cartoons they're going to grow up watching.
@shishikyuu Yeah, well, there's a meaning behind it (as stated in my profile). And let's just say that I still find a strong attachment to my childhood. But I guess that much was obvious.
@0rmick Radio is obvious enough choice, but I think you know what I really meant. In this day and age, classic rock radio isn't always enough. By putting music into cartoons, movies, and TV programing, kids get more exposure to more (because kids will ALWAYS watch TV, at least)... And yep, I'm from California, actually, but I found a few classic rock stations in my area (though my sister doesn't like that kind of music! Have to listen to something else when she's driving...).
@kzuchowski The movie released on 10 April 1992, so I saw it sometime around then. I was about 4 at the time. Wouldn't it be great if we could get Fox to put it back on the silver screen for a 20th anniversary next year? In 3D, perhaps? Thinking big!
@princess7strawberry Me too! This scene is absolutely what introduced me to this song! So I recognized it years later as a classic on the radio, and it *still* always makes me think of this scene! :)
