im actually going up the gradual incline, while his tires were plently warm for the first pull. We drove about 2 miles both with 1000 pounds in our beds for the pull. Since his truck is front and locked diffes at all times, the tires naturally warmed up due to the inner and outer traveling at different speeds working against each other, especially with a heavy load. My truck had 2 tires getting power to the ground while he had 4. Quit your bitchin the ford lost you little girl.

no a 351 windsor in a 93-96 model lightning made more horse/tourque than a 454 in the same time generation..and the 429 was actually underestimated, it was rele around 450-500...once the 70's came though and the 351m was made, ford put a shitload of restrictions on their engines because of the CO2 output shit and all that stuff..making the 351m only havin about 160hp

Seeing as how mopar and chevrolet had the most powerful v8's in the muscle car era...what were you bragging about again? Your little boss 429 that pumped out a whopping 375 rwhp compared to the 454's 450 which was actually rated by chevrolet at 450, and owners said it was more around 500. And mopars 426 hemi and 440 6 pack 3 two barrel carbs? Yea, fuck your bitchy fords. I dont remember that 460 in anything but a luxury car. And the 429 was still fords most powerful.

nope, the 429 wasnt the most powerful, at least it wasnt the fastest engine ford made..it was the 427FE that beat the hemis n mopars..even though ford's engines dont make nearly as much power, chevy n dodge still struggle a shit load to beat them..also, i dont remember what year of the 454 it was, but at one point, the 351w A SMALL BLOCK made more horse and tourque

It pumped out over 450 horses and over 500 lb ft of torque off the showroom floor, and took the heavy chevelle to a 12-13 second quarter. What makes it overrated again?

Never said it was a bad truck...The 1979 400 under the hood was the deciding factor though. Not a very powerful motor coming out of the 70's into the 80's. Late 70's is when they started toning the motors down to try and save fuel.
