gsixty: It`s pretty simple to understand what the Narrow Gate is Jesus is referring to in Matthew 7:13-14 We have 2 choices in life to follow. 1.) The Narrow Gate is the life lived in obedience to Christ and the Gospel which brings eternal life in God`s kingdom. 2.) The Wide Gate, The Broad Way, is a life lived without obedience to God`s Word. The Wide Gate leads to eternal damnation, separation from God. One gate leads to spritual life, and the other leads to spiritual death.

gsixty: The answer to your other question is No, obviously from my first comment to you. Does this message make you feel good, or does it challenge if you have REAL and Saving faith? Preaching the truth of God`s word even when you know people don`t like it and will be offended takes a lot of love. So I know that this message is preached out of love, real love for the lost, and a true love for God`s word.

Offence is an opposing contextual word.

Have you considered these verses?

Offence happens in the case of Jesus NOT b/c he is being OFFENSIVE but b/c of unbelief. JESUS does NOT cause the unbelief, He also does not offend.

James 3:2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

Jesus definitely offended the Pharisees and Romans otherwise He would be ruling this world from Jerusalem right now.

He died BECAUSE of sinful people and maybe as a passover sacrifice for all mankind. Could it be that a great big meteorite passed over that day and caused a few hours of darkness. A solar eclipse doesn't fit.  It only lasts minutes.

The "Narrow gate" is only simple from a surface read.

The choice is simple... Believe or do not. From what I see Jesus is not magnifiying the difficulty of entering the kingdom (period) but how impossible it is for *self* to enter.

Jesus taught death to self will and the only difficulty to that is when one allows the lust of the flesh to dictate their actions. Entering is simple...surrender.

I say; his concern to win souls for Jesus is eternal prosperity to each that does receive the Eternal Kingdom of Heaven through Jesus Christs Saving Grace.

Paul has taken directly from scripture and enlightened people to exactly what Jesus wanted them to know all along. And it's about time a pastor was bold enough to do so. sorry to crtic you but paul never "made" this sermon up this is from Jesus, this is what Jesus was syaing all along, this is not new, and its ashame that we (myself included) are only getting this now. dont give credit to paul this is God's word. and im sure paul wont want credit either.
