In Baseball, the point is that the batter doesn't see the ball so they miss the swing enough times to be out. In Cricket, the point is to confuse the batter about which way the the ball will bounce so they miss the swing and the wicket is broken. Different objectives, different delivery, different sports! You probably will get out in cricket and if you leave a hard bowl or miss it your out. Fielders have a harder job with more field with not many fielders and have no gloves except the wicket keeper who still gets his hands cut from the harder ball. Batting is harder as there are more ways of getting out and they have to hit the ball in the gaps which is hard

it's far more difficult to hit a cricket ball simply because the pitch(22 yards long strip/surface on which the game of cricket is played) comes into play.
The pitcher who we call bowler, runs up and hurls the ball at the batsman and generally bounces the ball off the surface.So the ball can move/swing in the air and move either way(away from or towards the batsman) AFTER hitting the surface.
I play better cricket than that 'star' american player.I'm not joking either.I mean it.

But full tosses are considered easy to hit hence 99% of bowlers choose to bounce the ball.If it was harder to hit baseball style full tosses that don'y bounce why would every cricketer choose to bounce the ball?

Also remember,being hit by a cricket ball can break bones.And there is no rule in cricket that makes it imperative for a bowler to bounce the ball.You're allowed to bowl,with a straight arm,like your baseball pitchers,without bouncing it as long as it's below the batsmans waist.

The ball getting a reaction off the pitch makes the game more exciting .
In baseball you get what we call,full-tosses.From hand straight to bat.
Chris Gayle,Yuvraj Singh or even David Warner would murder you if you bowled full tosses.
Think off it this way,the scope for movement of the ball is a lot more when the ball bounces of a surface.So reaction time is a lot lesser.
Search for Shane Warne,ball of the century or just watcha few random clips of him.Or wasim akram.

But for the more nuanced,unbiased yanks out there who might read this -The difference in average is because You can score in a 360 degree arc in cricket unlike baseball.
And you're allowed to play and miss as many times as you want,as long as the ball doesn't hit ur stumps,unlike baseball where you get 3 misses at most.
There are so many more dimensions in cricket,spin bowling,swing bowling,sheer pace.
