@navylaks2 it's all in the muting. you've got a VERY GOOD POINT. it is something that takes maybe a half year to completely master. knowing how to mute while doing rhythms and leads is very important.

i can't fit the muting techniques into one comment so i'll message you with the methods my guitar teacher's taught me, and some stuff i've just learned myself.

That last riff didnt sound too bad to me. These quickie lessons leave too many unanswered questions. Not very helpful. Assumption based on your video: All powerchords are plays on the 2 upper strings.

music theory? a power chord is so simple it's not worth explaning, it's 5th chords, for example, C G C. it's neither a major or minor because you miss out the 3rd

lol. I think a lot of people hear about something and think it means there's a certain way they should do it, so they think they have to downtune and use double bass and write all their songs about blood and the devil. It's a big world.

so i recently bought an electric guitar almost the exact same as yours. its an Ibanez but i can honestly say i cant get it to sound like yours. Yours has a much deeper "heavy metal" sound to it.
