I do have a question. I don't know if someone will be able to answer me. One of my goal is to go to japan, and work there ( as a computer scientist). But i would not want to work for a japanese company. I would rather work for a foreign company, as an expat, which would allow me (i think) to have better working conditions.
The term Expat is not technically to be viewed so narrowly, but... the vast majority of expats do not intend to return, for whatever reason. Otherwise you would just be a Dutchman or Russian 'visiting' for an extended period. Most Expats I know do not intend to return to the 'homelands'. The purpose behind being an expat is contradicted by a desire to return 'home.' Just my opinion...and that of many expats.
An expat is someone who does not ever plan on returning to their country of origin and perhaps renounces it. Someone who lives in Japan for a long time while working there may not be an expat.
I was an expat last year for a yr in Japan. I'm on and off in the expat scene. Turkey, Germany, Holland, etc. I think a lot of AMericans are out of touch with the international scene or questions why one would want to be in it whilst yelling USA #1.. It gets annoying. But its expected. An expat quite literally is someone that is residing outside of his/her home country. ITs the accepted definition. YOur defintion is something else..
Interesting interview.

Do you have any advice on how to achieve that?

Love your comment on if you can't change a thing why complain about it. And almost all things in Japan are unchangeable so accept and enjoy!
Or just look the other way and ignore it.
You are the only person I have heard that from.
Great view of the world.
