Very nice pictures! For those amazed by these... There are a surprising number of abandoned cities around the world, from the sparse remains of the California ghost towns to entire cities around Chernobyl (such as Pripyat), old mining towns, old factory towns, big sections of Detroit including a huge train station, Bhangarh India, Centralia Pennsylvania, and the saddest I've ever heard of, Oradour-sur-Glane, France. Search any engine and you'll find numerous web sites.
the arcade rooms shown are actually images from the deserted hashima island 3:04-3:18! so thats a error mistake by the uploader saying at 3:55 the next photos are all hashima pictures
hashima was a mine, owned by mistubishi, they closed it in the seventies for 20 yrs, oil replaced coal in japan. They reopened it in 2009 the concrete buildings where homes for the undersea mine workers.
This music is painfil to listen too !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and the island was deserted due to some kind of work shortage, the island was used for a main production base for some firm that went bust in the late 60's early 70's as far as i remember. there is a load of information you can find on it on here.
great video,i thaught that only prypiat was an hole abandoned city, but there are more...also radioactive problems?or some non- clean air around the mines??
@kamandalu Me too!! I also thought the whole chernobyl area was the only one.. apearently in Japan and China its because construction rules changed or companys went bankrupt..
I think I saw this island on a television show that was aired on the History channel. Pretty sure it was called "after humans are gone" or something like that. If I remember correctly, it was an island that was used for coal mining. Because of petroleum, coal lost its value and the mines on and around the island shut down, the island was abandoned in the 70's.
@68chevelleSS396 often they run out of funding or become bankrupt. I've heard that during the 50's the string regulations that now apply to construction in Japan didn't apply due to lack of earthquake safety knowledge, so some are too dangerous too live in, thats why most of the pictures of completely abandoned villages are on hills - the risk of a mudslide is too great for anyone to live there. Also, apparently in the 80's bowling was a massive trend and like all trends, it fizzled out.
acctually, they spent thousands of yen building these, and then after just a few years it was all abandoned. not torn down or anything. just left for nature to take over.
GREAT VID.!! Hey, I was the first to view it. I never saw a bowling alley like that before! We have empty houses in the city too! I don't live near any, THANK GOD!!
it would be awsome for paintball and airsoft
