lol. I can't believe how much this game sucks!! I remember it being really awesome as a kid, and now look at it!! Even the gameplay is like... WUHT ???
My family's first computer came with a game disk with this as one of the games on it. It was my favorite game at the time. It seemed so sophisticated compared to all other home games available at the time. I was horrible at the FPS part. At the time, FPS games didn't require you to actually aim your weapon, just point in the general direction and shoot. So the FPS part of this game was super hard. Just he concept of using a mouse to aim and keys to move was so new and weird.
I remember this being completely groundbreaking at the time. And the way you could drive the car around where you wanted felt like you were in a real sandbox environment :)
The driving sequence: I think RoboCop had a bit too much oil that day... LOL. I usually just played the arcade mode and the first person on-rails shooter mode all day :)
What the hell? Nobody says that! And it's not as if it's just awkward censorship, or it wouldn't contain the word "ass". Wouldn't having him say "jackass" or "asshole" be a lot more colloquial? "listen, asshole! I have nothing more to say." sounds a lot better than "listen buttass! I have nothing more to say."
@bobyard123 I prefer games with no voice acting, to me voice acting just detracts from the game due to the fact that 9 times out of 10 it just sounds so damn scripted, extremely annoying and when it comes to focusing on a central character i always found that when i read the words that MY voice in my own mind when i was reading was THE voice of the character and not the annoying voice of someone else for which i could have no association.
This is weird, but didn't this game come out about a year before the movie? I remember buying this I think in the Summer of 1992, while the movie came out in late 1993.
this engine was the bees knees back then.. just look at the beautiful 3d :P lol anyway spent quite a few nights behind my trusty amiga in those days..
@Carbon657 classic line. i'll never forget me and my best friend when we were about 9, after seeing robocop 1, running up to girls from school and saying that phrase in a Clarence Boddiger accent and getting collared by their parents overhearing us lol. oh well "i'd buy that for a dollar! gnyahahahahaaaaa!!!"
@deadline27 Robocop 3 wasn't bad, it was just a hating bandwagon? What are you 5? I still remember the anger when R3 was released, a lot of fans just went starking mad. If I ever met Fred Dekker, i'll slap his ugly ass silly for ruining the Robocop franchise.
@Swoop223 actually i'm 35 you fucking dumbass. "the robocop franchise" ... are you fucking crazy? these movies were meant to be b-movie type films anyways. it wasn't that bad. and yes, i saw it in a theater full of people who were very happy with it, you wannabe fucktard

Awesome game for its era, I have played the Amiga, Atari ST and DOS versions of this game, I believe this is the best one but I can't remember well.
This is one of the first FPS's to actually use complete polygonal environments and it still looks great after all these years. The controls, on the other hand, were horrible: using your crosshair to aim and to move is very difficult, or at least I think that now when you are used to walk with your keyboard and aim with your mouse in modern FPS's.
The funny thing is, this was supposed to be set in the future. It's 2009, and will still don't have an Asian American male news anchor. Where's Casey Wong?
When I first played this game I thought the graphics were amazing. The Atari ST and Amiga surpassed any console (Snes or Mega Drive (Genesis)) for 3D graphics.
@cubex55 Is girlfriend the same as female buddy? If so, AMIGA indeed means girlfriend. If girlfriend also means female individual with whom you kiss and make out, then you're wrong.
@cubex55 yeah! I took some Spanish courses. It is true that "Amiga" is Spanish for friend. Well, in this case a female friend. There is no telling what caused the game developers to name the console "Amiga". There is research for me to do.
@cubex55 is not the spanish word for girlfriend, is the spanish word for female friend, Amigo (whit O) is for male friend , the spanish language have this sorts of things, sorry for my bad english!
Couple days ago I had managed to find & download Robocop 3. Now only the problem I am currently having is randomly entering a 3 digit security password at the start of the screen. Can anyone out there help me on how to solve this. Thanks!
I think the game was shipped with a dongle you had to insert in one of the ports on the Amiga as some kind of copyprotection (thought they managed to crack that). Maybe the version you've found ain't cracked? :P
do a search for planetemu, two versions of Robocop 3 on there, both cracked by Fairlight, first version had the dongle protection but doesn't work on accelerated Amigas, second version had the 3 digit code protection and does work on accelerated Amigas.

Damn shame this game was never ported to the consoles.
3D drinving AND FPS in one game, it really should have been ported and upgraded to the Atari Jaguar also, given that the Jag was made for polygon overload.
Innovation no doubt! And it was a pretty cool experience, and perhaps it should have been ported to various consoles later down the line, but I was still loving RoboCop 2 at the time, with the scattershot type gun! The gameplay was awesome! :-)
Thats right, I think Robo 2 was in the arcades at that time, the bit where it went 3d and you had to shoot the dudes virtua cop style was great. Very playable.
You missed out the police station stage where you have to find the rehab uni department. That was my favourite stage. Otherwise it brings back some good old memories
I spent a criminal amount of time playing this game. Often I found myself seeing how many seconds I could continuously shoot someone as they dropped. Quality upload cheers,
I couldn't believe my eyes when I first clapped eyes on this game. Best thing about it though was how playable it was too. A cracking little game and one of the best home computer movie tie ins. thx for the vid!
Damn shame this game wasn't ported to the 16 bit consoles, it really was a great game in its time and could have been the only decent 16 bit fps game!
I used to love this game, my friend had a pirated copy on his A500, But I finally got an offical copy when I bought an A600 a few months later, only to get pissed off to learn it was incompatible, for the sole reason the security key chip you needed to plug into the joystick port wouldn't bleedin' fit in the A600.
Frickin' overly neurotic Ocean, what was wrong with the spin-disc everyone else used?
Actually I belive it was made about the same time as the movie (around 1991) but they held bask the movie for 2 years. Since it sucked they should never released the damn thing. Pretty sweet game for it´s time though.
They really dropped the ball with this game. So much disappointment. The first Robocop game was good though!

Anyone remember "Driller"?!
That was the first 3D game of any real significance I can actually remember playing!
But until "Doom" came out, I nearly always tended to avoid playing 3D games!

1 word....INNOVATIVE!
Damn shame this game was never ported to the consoles.
3D drinving AND FPS in one game, it really should have been ported and upgraded to the Atari Jaguar also, given that the Jag was made for polygon overload.
This game was ahead of its time, no doubt!

Innovation no doubt! And it was a pretty cool experience, and perhaps it should have been ported to various consoles later down the line, but I was still loving RoboCop 2 at the time, with the scattershot type gun! The gameplay was awesome! :-)
Cooter3422 3 years ago

The Graphics look like the game "Another World" Or on SNES (Out Of This World)

Damn shame this game wasn't ported to the 16 bit consoles, it really was a great game in its time and could have been the only decent 16 bit fps game!

Awesome (for it's time) 1st person 3D shooter!

ScrewAttackEurope 3 years ago
they were not full proof. secret of monkey island had that but looking at videos its obvious pirated versions existed

Oh all Amiga games were hackable, I can never account one that wasn't.
Even codemasters stupid way of you having to ring them up every time you needed the code to start.
ScrewAttackEurope 3 years ago
Actually I belive it was made about the same time as the movie (around 1991) but they held bask the movie for 2 years. Since it sucked they should never released the damn thing. Pretty sweet game for it´s time though.

your correct, and this game looks incomparable to the sad (sad!) robo 3 movie
