Earthquakes shaking the Earth apart, destroying the icecaps and causing tsunamis of now irradiated water to crash across every continent. Volcanoes erupting left and right... Basically there wouldn't be enough left to have a wasteland. Chances are most of the water would evaporate after a while, seeing as the ozone would be gone. The best we could hope for is a dried up rock and even then we couldn't see it.
