@jubinne: There's a short documentary here on YouTube -only 3 parts- called "Luchino Visconti - Alla ricerca di Tadzio" (meaning: "In search of Tadzio"). It's all in Italian, but you'll like it all the same. You'll get to see the whole of Björn's audition, as well as auditions of some other boys who pretended to become Tadzio. But (I'm sure you'll agree), they stood no chance againt this beautiful Sweedish god!! XD

Bjorn does indeed speak EXCELLENT English. Glad Tony Harwood had his 16mm camera with him during the filming in Venice. How cool to watch them along with actual scenes from "A Death in Venice". What a beautiful city...no wonder so many people the world over have fallen in love with Venice!

This is the first time I heard Bjorn talk. Beautiful, masculine voice, very inteligent, thoughtful comments. He has expressed such a depth in insight and speaks English extremely well! I am beyond impressed...Life may have not been kind to him in later years, due to a horrible loss of a child. Yet, Bjorn remains dignified. He is an educated musician, and I only wish to hear him play. I'd love it if he wrote an autobiography one day.

It is amazing how every description of Tadzio matches perfectly with Björn, as if HE was the boy Mann had met and whom he was refering to in his novel!!!! That's just incontrovertible proof that this stunningly beautiful sweedish Angel was born for this role.....
