Not every horse and rider gel 100% and at serious competition levels that does matter. Too many owners will not admit that they are wrong for their horse and vice versa. To try and stop leaning forward try and put your stirrups as long as possible it will balance the horses loads more. If you watch The likes of Paul Shockomola Jumping watch his stirrups. It will ache for a few days but you'll see a biiigg improvment in his jumping.

That is very unclassical "advice"! If anything, her stirrups should be shorter. The stirrups should be adjusted so that the knee forms a 110 degree angle and the thigh should never be perpindicular to the ground over the arc of a fence. This aids the base of support and allows the ankle to be flexed, toe out, and, of course, leg tight and fixed by the girth. Besides, I doubt Grace'll listen to either of us; she has her own trainers who know what's best especially for her.

But If you think about it Longer stirups Balanaces the horse alot more At with Stirrups like jockeys It makes you Top heavy over the fence me and my coach did a small phsics test with it. I think he knows what he's talking about.He's competed all over the world and broke Poland high jump record 1994. I'm not being a boast But just giving grace some advice to help Milo improve =]

I'm sure your trainer is very knowledgeable, but I really doubt that longer stirrups "helps balance the horse" in any way whatsoever. Horses learn balance through systematic flatwork. And George Morris, chef d'equipe of the USEF Show Jumping Team, who coached the US to a team gold at the Olympics, promotes shorter stirrups. I'm not trying to boast, either, but your ankle can't act as a spring/shock absorber when your leathers are so long! But hey, whatever floats your plane! =D
