  • hahaha john cusack has a beard............!

  • john cusack is the killer!

  • ooooh, interesteing

  • They revealed too, too much in trailer :S

..and they revealed in the description " last days of Edgar Allan Poe" that he dies at the end -.-"

  • the recycled the trap from saw

  • @IrishCat04 Lol

  • @IrishCat04 dude, that kind of trap is older than you. They just happened to use it in Saw because it's grotesque.

  • I'm just a poe boy from a poe family.

  • @2:04 is what you came for

  • Im sorry but John Cusack is not the guy to be playing Edgar Allen Poe. Should be someone like Johnny Depp, Michael Fassbender, Tom Hardy or Cillian Murphy

  • Actually Stallone is directing POE!!! PLEASE type in GREEN LANTERN THE ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY it is the true story of how GEORGE LUCAS sent off duty CIA agents to threaten my Mother with guns PLEASE check it out thanks

  • The Masque of the Red Death <3

  • So, it's the first episode of Castle but with Edgar Allen Poe?

  • I remember there was a movie with the same theme, was it the murder of the crows?

  • @Forty2Times Not really, but I see what you mean.

  • youtube.com khmer

  • a victorian version of saw?

  • I don't think I'll be watching this movie - _ -. 1. The guy they got to play Edgar Allan Poe should have tried shaving a bit. 2. I can't imagine him saying things like "I'll send you to Hell", it just doesn't sound like something he'd say. 3. The murderer reminds me somewhat of Erik from Phantom of the Opera mixed with Zorro.

  • @writer15131

Well, maybe he won't say "I'll send you to hell." I can recall dozens of incidents where things from the trailer weren't in the finished film.

  • This looks cool; I would love to go see it.

  • seems cool!! :D

  • Cannot wait till this comes out... Edgar Allen Poe is one of the hugest role models in my life. Plus just recently saw Sherlock Holmes and it was thoroughly interesting aswell...♥

  • needs a release date soon

  • @wallflmas i think its in cinema from march 9th

  • So gonna watch it.

  • the detective seens t know to much hes probably the killer.

  • looks really fucking good!!!

  • Castle.

  • @Poet2196 Johnny Depp is in all those movies. Not Robert Downey Jr.

  • Why do I think that the policeman did it?

  • thumbs up if u came here just assuming something by looking at the thumbnail :|

  • @obscureindian It's 2012, virtually all thumbnails on youtube look like porn. You must love those pathetic reply-whore videos. On-topic: The movie looks a bit ridiculous, especially if you consider the fact that Poe was drunk out of his mind most of the time. Still a great writer though; and if they wanted to make a ludicrous action movie about him, they should have made one in which he hunts down the bastard Griswold post-mortem, as a zombie. That would be awesome.

  • It's the police inspector.

  • 2012 looks like a good year

  • Excelent Movie. Just seen here bit.ly\yZlQOg

  • ...another "WHERE IS SHE?" movie then, eh?

  • One of the scene of killing is like on the SAW movie. Thumbs up? :)))

Yeah, i agree. It's like a Shelock Holmes and Sleepy Hollow. Hehe! XD

  • My favourite author.

    Obviously a fictional film .....

I am looking forward to seeing how much of it is accurate and how much is fictional.

  • This looks fantastic!

  • Its weird that I have his book and has never read it once...I think I might start

  • "qoute the raven nevermore!"""PLEASE type in GREEN LANTERN THE ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY thanks

  • What's going on with the phrase "WHERE IS SHE?!?" in movies lately. Dark Knight, Raven, that other new one with the blonde, that low budget action flick. Everyone is screaming that in the trailer, and on that note WHERE IS SHE?!?!

  • This movie reminds me of "The Bone Collector".

  • Not a bad concept (a killer using Edgar Allan Poe's contraptions to kill people). it's a shame Hollywood'll probably ruin it.

  • Hmmm. No offense, but didn't wasn't Edgar pretty much a...bit of an alcoholic especially in his final days? John Cusack loked pretty sober during the whole trailer.

  • what does all this have to do with a bird though? but then again i havent read the book.

  • @SpeakMyMind500 the Raven is Edgar Allen Poe's most famous poem. it is about a raven reminding poe of the death of his wife or something. it's quite eerie.

  • @Raven2589 yeah i read some stories from him back in high school. he is a pretty good writer.

  • @Raven2589 Is that a long poem? THis looks way better than the black and white movie which I think just wanted to make money off the name. This is realistic horror, and I will be seeing it along with Silent House.

  • @Nightavenger2 It is actually, there is a band called Omnia, and they used the poem to make a song out of it, that lasts 10 min, so it is a pretty long poem, and that song is absolutely amazing! you should look it up ;)

  • FFs what shit. Who can take seriously the idea that Abraham Lincoln was a vapire killer and Edgar Allen Poe an action man hero? Hollywood are totally bankrupt of good ideas.

  • @astrophonix

Since when does it say Poe's an action hero here? He's just helping an investigation into a murderer that's obsessed with his works.

  • *starts opening old books of Edgar Allan Poe...

  • Seriously, take a closer look, and imagine Cusack's face without hair... and there it is: you've got Norton's face in American History X:D

  • @VICILIVIIDI don't see it.

  • I thought this was going to be about a party raven.

  • so im guessing the raven doesnt quote never more?

  • just use auto-turrets

  • If you guys wanna watch some of the hottest and latest movies of 2012, make sure to check out my channel !

  • i'm not really a fan of the whole taking historical characters and re-writting their life stories... Abe Lincoln and Mr. Poe could be weeping in their graves.

  • Considering Edgar allen poe was very frail and weak in real life, his on screen avatar is kick ass.

  • Comment removed

  • holy shit i thought they wrote the wrong name first, thought it was scherlock holmes... -_-

  • is it me or john cusack is looking a bit Chinese????

  • Is this not Jack the ripper?, lookse like it

  • I'm a huge Poe fan, so when I read about this, it made me want to see it instantly. At first, I thought, "Oh crap, it's going to suck", but then they explain the plot and I thought, "Wow, this sounds really good."

  • Ok so I'm not a poe fan but I really want to

    Go see this movie

  • actually john cusack like the d so hes not a very good actor.

  • not bad but reminds me uf sherlock holmes

  • @korrensuungon cum on! havent u ever read the murders in the rue morgue? with the detective C. Auguste Dupin?? its a story from Edgar Allan Poe, in 1841...

  • John Cusack is, in my opinion, the most under-rated actor of our time. A true genius, a true artist, and a true actor.

  • @WarOnHeaven1 FACT:)

  • wow pretty bad ass

  • looks pretty cool... cool concept

  • this is not fiction, his short story was believed to mirror a murder of a lady during his time... Do a research... It is yet unsolved.

  • See, now they've turned Edgar Allen Poe into a badass. WHAT WILL THEY DO NEXT?!

... Does this mean I won't go to see the movie anyway? Well, no...

  • @alecLogan

Well they already made Abraham Lincol n a vampire hunter.

  • SAW meets Sherlock Holmes. DONE!

  • Zeus! (Immortals)

  • jack the ripper accounts + sleep hollow + sherlock holmes = the raven apparently

  • Looks like sherlock :)

  • this movie looks pretty good :D i may just go see it with my huuby

  • @1:15 it reminds me of the saw series.

  • Let me guess, Johnny Depp said no ...

  • @HalloweenCometh thats what i was thinking :D haha

  • @HalloweenCometh HAHAHAHAHAHAHA =P best comment!

  • @HalloweenCometh No doubt.

  • @HalloweenCometh

u forgot robert downey junior. they we're bros. both refused (:

  • @HalloweenCometh I think he was sick of blood being splattered in his face. Sweeney todd, Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hallow...

  • @HalloweenCometh - exactly what I was thinking. lol

  • this is like sherlock holmes with horror movie shock value mixed in, but that's not stopping from seeing it. :)

  • SHIVERING!!!!!

  • This movie need Robert Downey Jr. better .. :)

  • Comment removed

  • WoooW

  • Does this remind anyone else of From Hell?

  • 1:43 "WHERE IS SHE?!"

    ...Batman...?

  • This is like "Sherlock Holmes meets Sleepy Hollow" movie... ME REALLY GUSTAAA!!!

  • me before clicking advert: oh this is a movie adaptation of the poem

    watching: OHMYGOD!! SO FUCKING SCARY!!

after: fuckme! this aint real or scary what

  • That detective sure loves himself. You know what, this film does live up to Sherlock Holmes. A blockbuster movie director took a series of amazing works of fiction and made an action movie out of them.

  • Castle: The Movie

  • Sounds fascinating.

  • Well, Poe actually died in the gutter from alcohol. He had been grabbed by a group of political thugs who wanted him to go all over Baltimore and vote over and over again. In order to keep him happy they kept him drinking all day. That's it. He was a drunk, he drank lots of Absinthe, and it happens.

  • I think... this movie is going to be good! :D To bad with the choice of Poe though... he's so bright and Poe was so dark... but still, i think this is going to be good! :)

  • doesn't Basic Instinct has the same plot

  • Perfect my favorite writer when does this come out?

  • where is she

  • "The Tell-Tale Heart" Murderous narrator

  • i know this is just an adaptation, but still, cusack as edgar allan poe? cusack's such a bright character, which is in contrast with poe's. :O

  • I'm a bit saddened that Poe is being rekindled in such a... hollywood fashion.

  • The killer is the cop!

  • hey they used one of saws weopons

  • @ollehkacb In actual fact, the pendulum trap in Saw V is a reference to 'The Pit and The Pendulum' written by Edgar Allan Poe in 1842. I noticed while watching the trailer, love the reference myself. Looks set to be an awesome film!

  • Last night this bitch came rapping at my door. She's hot, but too clingy. Bro. Nevermore.

  • i just want to see 2.04

  • @TheYing109 same here

  • @TheYing109 You just did.

  • @TheYing109 DUDE tht's not even a second :/

  • I want to play a game...

  • this looks amazing!!!

  • omg! hope it gets Allan's vision

  • Nice. =D

  • reminds me of that agatha christie episode from doctor who :o

  • Wait..Was that the Pendebellum trap from Saw 5?

  • I wanna watch this too!

  • O_O

    nevermore..

  • LAME!

  • @unboundword2006 ur opinion is lame, now why dont u fuck off

  • @periplatipus ahahahahaaha

  • It's so funny how my name is Raven XD

  • @Raventhesim My real name is too lol

  • I feel like this script was in a Sherlock Holmes format and they just pulled a Mad Lib and added in Edgar Allan Poe.

  • Did Jon Cusack make a deal with the devil or something? How is he still getting roles? -_-

  • Is the young policeman in this trailer Neville Longbottom from Harry Potter?

  • I hope they plan on returning the Saw franchise's guillotine pendulum trap

  • why do i feel that Ed Norton would've made a better Poe?

  • Screw what Edgar Allan Poe was. I'm treating this movie merely as a homage to his stories and the man. It looks awesome to me. To people that like the obvious inaccuracies should consider such films like Van Helsing in which the character is massively different to the original. A film about H.P Loveraft was made a while back in which HP is a character and the that Necronomicon shit is actually real. Just take this movie as a massive fanfilm for those that loves his work. It looks entertaining.

  • So can't wait. I freakin LOVE JC

  • is the girl he was kissing his cousin? hahaha because edgar did marry his cousin in real life

  • @TheMisstee03 True he did but, she may have been dead. Her death was the inspiration for his poem Annabelle Lee and many more.

  • i want to see this

  • its the inspector!

  • Anyone else think of the last skeleton creek book "the raven " while watching this?

  • jack the ripper meets sherlock holmes meets saw meets edgar allen poe with a small dose of sleepy hollow put it all together you get this movie lol

  • Comment removed

  • Also, this movie is fiction. Edgar Allan Poe was not pursuing a serial killer (at least, it hasn't been documented) during his last days. This movie will probably do well because the cause of his death is a mystery and speculation is powerful. But the fact remains, nobody knows except maybe those who treated him at the hospital where he died. I honestly think he was just really drunk, and someone possibly attacked him or drugged him. Nothing exciting like a serial killer. Probably.

  • @NevermoreRaven So I think Sherlock Holmes and From Hell will be better than this, unfortunately. I've been waiting for a good film based on Poe.

  • @NevermoreRaven

There has been some research done on the strong possibility that he died of RABIES, based on the descriptions of his symptoms.

  • By the Gods! Zeus is an investigator!

  • its weird to see 2012 beside a trailer name. lol. i wanna see the hot girl in the pic

  • NICE

  • Edgar Allan Poe married his cousin. That is all.

  • @HindsightPOV So did a lot of people, back then. It was socially acceptable.

  • @NevermoreRaven

So was having a child bride. Sorry, but it's still gross.

  • nice job pausing on the tit-leaning scene

  • I LOVE Edger Allan Poe !!!!!!!

  • hehe.. Fantasy movie.. Looks good.. Guess will watch it..

  • I may or may not have wet myself

  • looks good to watch

  • Looks more interesting than Shakespeare in Love.

  • From hell was correct to a point...

  • you can clearly see that the inspiration for the character of the detective is from the tv show criminal minds

  • NEVERMORE

  • why is it called the raven? how misleading, that's only one of his stories, i was expecting a film version of THAT story!

  • Sherlock Holmes 3?

  • The "saw" reference you mention was an original idea by Edgar Allen Poe. If anything saw took that idea.

  • I thought this sounded familiar. I read about this before. I'm excited to see this. the whole 2:16 was suspenceful!

  • EVEN THOUGH EDGAR ALLEN POE WAS A DRUGGIE AND AN ALCOHALIC I STILL LIKE HIS WORK AND I NEVER THOUGHT A MOVIE ABOUT HIM WOULD COME TO BE BECAUSE HE IS SUCH AN OLD WRITTER AND HIS BOOKS......ARE SUSPENSFUL AND A LITTLE CREEPY BUT HE IS MY MOST FAVORITE AUTHOR
