Well,since I've been a fan of his for over 10 years,I can understand why.He's been living in Los Angeles since he was a teenager,when he moved out here with his Dad and sister in order to further his acting career.Christian himself has said in many interviews,that living in L.A. for as long as he has,he had no choice but to pick up an American accent.I agree,I'm born and raised and still reside in L.A. ^__^

Also, people say Rangers are the same as Marine Grunts. All you have to do to be a marine is go through Basic and advanced training. thats it. 12 weeks of harsh training the rest is just honing your skills for your MOS. Rangers back delta force up on very high profile raids. They do night assaults and raids. The only airborne marines are 1st Force Recon and the first recon battalion. Guess where they complete airborne school at the Army airbone school with us rangers. Army has more logistics.
He also toured in Afghanistan he says so in the movie. Rangers are underrated. They are a quick reaction force ready and capable to take on many times more then there numbers. People think Marines are the best, well look what it takes to be a marine and look what it takes to be a ranger. Rangers start off going through basic training AIT then they have to do well enough to attend ranger school then after that they go through 3 weeks at airborne school to get there silver wings.

Am I the only one that thought this movie was a piece of shit? Bale was totally (TOTALLY!) miscast in this role. You don't buy his gang banger routine for one minute. Rodriquez though, was exellent and deserves credit. Go see Training Day. It's basically the same movie only much better, with a chilling performance by Denzel Washington.

If you really want to have a good time watching this movie take a shot every time Bale says dude. It might be the only way you can make through this garbage.
Bale was not miscast, he did a damn good job. He wasn't only playing a gang banger. He had been in the military for a long time and trying to get into the LAPD. He wasn't just some thug selling guns and drugs out of his trunk on the street corner. If that was the case he'd have done it very differently.
You are missing the point - the film is not about gangs and guns, it's about one confused man, destroyed by the stupid war. The film is an anti-war drama not a copy of Training Day. And to add, Bale is an outstanding actor, there is no argument about it for sure!
but no joke-the character he plays in this movie is EXACTLY like by bf-it was kinda creepy when we went and watched it together we both wurr in complete shock with the similarities.

This movie is...over the top, I dont know hot else to describe it. It's amazing in it's complexity, it's meaning, and of course the acting. Not only Christian Bale (my favourite) is exceptional, Freddy Rodriguez also gives an incredible performance. This movie is GREAT.

just saw the film, and l liked it, it got better. but l could see why it didnt fair well at the box office. cristian bale alone made the movie. plus the ending scene with him and freddie rodrigues.

if christian bale wasn't in this film i wouldn't have liked it. But he is, and a movie like this is just showing christian bale proving he can play ANY role, and be magnificent at it. He is the best!!!

Am I the only one that thought this movie was a piece of shit? Bale was totally (TOTALLY!) miscast in this role. You don't buy his gang banger routine for one minute. Rodriquez though, was exellent and deserves credit. Go see Training Day. It's basically the same movie only much better, with a chilling performance by Denzel Washington.

Bale was not miscast, he did a damn good job. He wasn't only playing a gang banger. He had been in the military for a long time and trying to get into the LAPD. He wasn't just some thug selling guns and drugs out of his trunk on the street corner. If that was the case he'd have done it very differently.

You are missing the point - the film is not about gangs and guns, it's about one confused man, destroyed by the stupid war. The film is an anti-war drama not a copy of Training Day. And to add, Bale is an outstanding actor, there is no argument about it for sure!
