  • too bad the nobs wouldn\t watch this working class show--it shd be salutory

  • This is British class snobbery at its highest absurdity. It's bad enough when the nobs do it, but a middle class person putting on airs!

  • I am so glad I found this clip, thank you NorwegicusTheThird. I was working at Lancaster Northampton when this was filmed. To see our staff who took part in the filming. A quick glance of Rob walking away from the car after driving it out of the show room. Philipa who calls Mr Hunt into the showroom for his phone call and Nigel R. seen pointing something out to Mr Hunt when he was taking the phone call. The BBC invited us to Shepards Bush to be part of the audience for the laughter-oh memories.

  • Hell mend Richard for continually obeying his vile, ignorant, foolish and blind wife who always seeks to impress people who couldn't care less.

  • Hyacinth raises pretentiousness to an excessive degree to show us how silly it is and how much it hurts her family whom she looks down on but are better people than she is herself.

  • bet emmet would be thrilled to see hyacinth getting arrested.

  • That serves her right always trying to showboat for people who don't even care.

  • This would have been a good finale for the show - Hyacinth Bucket in the arms of the law!

  • Lmao. Hyacinth plans always seem to backfire.

  • I feel so sorry for Hyacinth. What a cruel ending. :(

  • @EwBriii

    lol she asked 4 it.

  • Feel sorry for Richard!!! Hyacinth bullied him into it and he'll be blamed...she shouldn't get him into trouble like that. She has no judgment...no sense.

  • @wildwomanwisdom

richard should learn 2 say no.

I wish the series ended with richard finally saying no.

  • Poor Richard.... gateaway car... stolen car...

  • end: its a pity one cant see how they got out of the trouble!

  • what house are they at? it looks nice, if anyone knows could they tell me, much appreciated

  • At 5:17, Hyacinth spells her surname as b-o-u-q-u-e-t, which is wrong! It is spelt b-u-c-k-e-t, which is the whole point of the "bucket pronounced bouquet" joke!

  • @GrahamLondonUK Well if you spell it a different way then the police may end up looking for someone else!

  • @osogoodgirl You're right, it's a good way to avoid being caught!

  • @GrahamLondonUK Exactly. Except it would never work for someone like her who always has to be the center of attention and known by everyone! The most general description of her would bring every neighbor in a ten mile radius running in to identify her and lock her away from them for as long as possible! lol

  • @osogoodgirl Yes, but Hyacinth wants only her personally approved type of attention, such as from the vicar, the major or Mr & Mrs Barker-Finch. Hyacinth believes that the only person the police should be interested in is Onslow!

  • @GrahamLondonUK Imagine...Hyacinth locked behind bars only to Onslow come strolling in to pick up Daddy! lol

  • @osogoodgirl From 4:54, I admire Onslow's concern for Hyacinth and Richard when they are apprehended by police, he drags Daisy and Rose back into the hotel for another cup of coffee!

  • I think Onslow saw them at one point.

  • lol did anyone notice how the spelling of the last name changed....haha ....its B O U Q U E T...LMAO

  • @CrazySexyCoolmeisha I did =).

  • haha i just love this episode.haha

  • sweet - some of the green deko is dropping at 3.33

    I love it! Thanks again.

  • poor richard. he must have been a horrible man in his last life to deserve hyacinth :[

  • I wouldve punched that bitch at the end.

  • @SMI05011459 who?

  • Never thought Hyacinth would steal a car but now she and Richard bet they wish they hadn't by the time the old bill arrive and arrest them both.

  • you can really tell Onslow is a loving husband because he's willing to take care of Daisy's father even tho Daddy is insane.

    Onslow is so sweet :)

  • met him when he came thru my supermarket register here in oz and yep hes a down to earth guy for sure....onslow is 2nd best after hyacinth:))

  • best show!

  • This was like a nightmare. Funny but a bit disturbing.

  • Glasses with zoom lenses...lol

  • love onslow very much!

  • I love Hyacinth!

  • It's just a shame how Richard lets her run him.He needs to man up.And tell her hell no and please be quiet.See i was polite, lol

  • But then the show would loose all its flavor.

  • Oh the ending is too cruel!!

  • Totally agree...

    Ouch. :x

  • Gotta love Onslow! :D

  • never a dull moment !!

  • Me and my friend Kelsey love keeping up appearances!!!!!!! We both agree that Onslow is hilarious!

  • it's boquet!

  • the buckets being detained by the police, very funny, hahaha. lol

  • Its quite interesting to see that beyond the

" Comedy" aspect there is a selfish Hyacinth who dominates her long-suffering husband and is ashamed of the BETTER sisters who take care of their father, and put up with his geriatric problems. I dont think this series was filmed as a comedy complete. I think its a wake-up call for superficial people and an hommage to those who are the caring ones and dont give a damn about who says what.

There is a huge message here.

  • @munichlady couldn't agree more. I was a bit like Hyacinth before seeing these for the first time ages ago and then I learnt to laugh at me

  • @munichlady

I think it WAS simply filmed as a comedy, considering who the writers and producer are. But I think it became a very insightful social critique and on that point I agree with you completely.

However, we have to agree to disagree as I think only a personal interview with Roy Clarke would clarify whether or not he intended it to be a stab at the pretentious middle class.

  • @munichlady and the best part is Patricial Rutledge hated the type of people she portrayed. that's what makes her great performances even better

  • @whiespider never knew that.....thats for sharing that info........she really does play the part well......she drives me insane with her crap....lol

  • @whiespider ooops....thanks for sharing*

  • @munichlady Yes :)

  • Loved the episode.Loved onslows sence of humour to his father in law pretending to be in africa

  • Daddy is old and senile.

  • ITS Bouquet!

  • The couple at 3:55 is my guitar teacher and his wife!

    =]

  • lol. Maybe there will be elephants. lol

  • I am so glad you posted these! I've been dying for them!
