Wow, they were lewd back in the days, LOL...watch at 3:57...that would surely have all the WASP´s hollering like hell nowadays...which proves TV can´t be fun in the present, too much political correctness...
The director of the new muppet movie said it will be like the old fashion muppets, bringing back the muppet theater & muppets we have'nt seen for 30 years.i cant wait.this special, the special"of muppets & men",all sam & friends episodes, and all muppet commercials should be on the next 2 dvds of the muppet show.there sure taking a while dangit.
Oh my gosh! Thanks a million for posting this!!! My grandpa had this taped when I was small and we'd watch it every time we came to visit, but then one day the video had disappeared. I've been searching for this for years!!! :D
i grew up on the muppets and i remember this when i was little its classic they just dont make good programs for children anymore now it all dora crap and stuff so what do u think of wilkens lol
I used to have this special recorded when I was little and wore out the tape. I've been on the hunt for it for years! Thanks for posting it! Ahhh nostalgia!
HA! i have this in a playlist, so it moved on to the next clip before i could post that exact same sentiment!
LOL
so sad though if you think about it.. look it how they went all out on this 30th anniversary
50th anniversary? DVD releases.. lame Tv specials... lame, lame, lame
wish disney would realize that they the muppet family is not a novelty act. the magic was in treating the muppets as they would any other group of entertainers
@FLPman "wish disney would realize that they the muppet family is not a novelty act."
"Novelty act" isn't THE word for it, more like "just another one of their franchises". I don't hate Disney as much as you might(Viacom's much worse at times), but yeah they should realize the true extent of their legacy.
One of the B/W clips here (Proto-Cookie Monster eating the wire of the computer) has been posted online in color on Youtube. Strange how they didn't have access to the color version

seriously, thank you to anyone who continues to post videos and messages keeping not just the memory of Jim alive but support others out there who still feel his loss.

if they ever do another anniversary, it should be the old fashioned way like how this is.

the next one would be the sixtieth, in five years. At the end Kermit said "We're starting our next thirty years tomorrow, so let's get to work."

Kermit's Tonight Show joke about the Disney guard not wanting to let them out is ironic, ain't it?

The skit at 3:29-3:47 reminds me of Sesame Street, where letters from the alphabet or numbers would appear on the screen. Absolutely amazing!

The clips of "Sam and Friends" make it appear that Kermit started out as a chick! Or was that another character that resembles Kermit?
cait72590 3 years ago
No, in some sketches on the show he portrayed a female by donning a wig and lip-synching to songs, he looks terrible though lol!
