My dad talked to a bird like that once. It got stuck in our chimney and we had to get it out so we...let it out. It flew around for nearly 20 minutes before it found the window with the popped out screen.

Animal control, by the way, does not come out for a bird in the fireplace. It has happened to us twice now. *sigh*
