I'm using 10.10 Kubuntu. The PulseAudio is a piece of shit. I removed it, and Phonon works like charm. I mean really! I gave PA a chance again, but it f*cked the system, I couldn't use XBMC, sound in Urban Terror was slow, so never again.
@DcNdrew Awesome thanks for making the open source world such a pleasant and enjoyable place to spend my free time! I fully appreciate not everyone will appreciate the efforts myself and others put in but to be so rude about it is unacceptable. I hope you take a cold hard look at the way you present yourself in public.
FWIW, I use PA+Phonon (they are in no way competing technologies) all the time and I regularly use XBMC too all without issue.
@conlingooch I'm really sorry, I usually don't speak like this, but this time I was in a mood with boiled mind. I had some problems with PA before, but I could make it work. As Kubuntu have PA, by default, I couldn't. Half-year ago I've removed PA, everything was fine. Now tried to use it again. I spent some hours to make it work, but I had no luck. Crashed, lagged, speakers were mixed etc. I was searching for solutions, with these nerves, and this is how I've ended here. Sorry again. :$
