I have a push button car, a Prius. And the key that comes with it you don't actually use but the car won't start unless it detects the key is actually with you inside the car. So no, it's not easy to steal xD
For a while I honestly didn't know the specific difference between Charmander and Charizard. So I kept calling one the wrong thing whenever it appeared in Smash Bros.
in regards to the whole push button car thing, No, it is not that much easier to steal. this is because there is still a key with a computer chip in it that you have to have in your pocket or somewhere inside your car for it to turn on. I'm not sure if this is true for all push button cars but any i have seen are like that.
If the Crystarium system returns in 13-2 I would like it to be more like FFX where you have more choice and one party member can go into another one's piece of the grid
You were talking about the push button's to start a car. They have what's called a 'keyless start.' You have your 'key' in your pocket, and your car computer can sense when you enter your car because of the 'key.'
i'm posting a comment on when your talking about the push button on cars most cars that have that you have to have the transmitter with in 10 fet of the car for the car to start
geez HC, most of the game's character development and story is told through flashbacks, most of the time im not a big fan of that, but in this game, it works 4 me
in the flashback with Snow and Serah, those guards don't know she's a l'Cie, dude. the Purge just started. those guys were trying to shove them on a train.
No, the push button cars are not easy to start just because they're push button. There is a microchip in the car's key where it won't turn on unless you either A. Use that key to unlock the door or B. Use the 'Unlock' button on the key chain thing... The car can detect if it's broken into and just not start.
I think the Datalog tells you what this area's for, but I think it's a leisure area, and only a certain section's available to the civilians. [In Episode 0 Hope went on a field trip there when he was younger]
@LordHippoman remember square enix fans hate square enix nothing they do will ever please their fans so they just go off and draw porn of everything. (disclaimer if your a fan of square enixs work and you dont just complain and draw porn of their characters then i apologize)
By now you've probably had a lot of responses but in our old Prius, you had to have a remote-type key in your pocket in order to push the button that started the car. So in the end you still need a key type thing so the car know it's you.
Also, you've probably said it in a past episode, but why do you have to remove your accessories before the end of a chapter?
Do you know your target audience for the let's play is playing along....I have keep pausing the video for battles....and then I'm screw with the flipping over. So how many people first time playing the game would do that think to remove equipment. You're not doing for people who are having fun playing the game...because off-screen doesn't happen in reality.
lol poor Sahz, getting dragged around by Vanille's "when in doubt, run away" life style...he can't even compensate by getting some booty duty, even though they're in a forest..where no one can hear you scream ^-^
HCBailly, the way the push button ignition works, is you have a key fob that sends a signal aprox 6 foot around it. The car only starts when the fob is near.
As I understand it, Cocoon is some kind of giant arcology. It's entirely self-contained, including its ecology, so they would need some "greenhouse" areas such as this one for biomass. Even with a fal'Cie helping things along.
What is that emblem on Sazh's jacket shoulder anyway? Did the game ever say where he used to work?
The music reminded me of Persona. And again, the whole tentacle of light induced tattoos thing is a bit like Digital Devil Saga, without the cannibalism.
lol, my dad has a car where u push the button to start it, but u need like a key which u place into a socket under the button and thats how it'll work.
The original Pokemon games were great, those being blue, red, and yellow. Granted things seem greater in your childhood but regardless they were and still are great games.
People complain about narrow hall ways but they dont realize how hard it is to make an open area. Open areas realy bring down processing causing lag, if they made it open then quality would demish and people would be complaining about that. Besides every FF sinse SNES games have been linier you just dont notice as much
@FallenSnowWolf Your wrong in so many ways here except the processing power. I feel is the laziness now a days video games have. FF5 and 6 were liner in the plot but they still had plenty of sidequest and bonus rewards to grab and the narrow paths started on FF10. The thing I complaint most about linear paths like this is that it takes sidequest or really interesting non plot important areas out of the game.
@bladorac I also think the choice to make a linier game might also come into marketing for FF14. Want openend game play, play online. To date FF10 has the most side quest of any FF game so liniarity dosnt remove it. I realy dont care much for side quest myself, so how do you appeal to both sides.
@FallenSnowWolf And another point about why they are been lazy with the FF series is look at the elder scroll series, they are still making them open world with areas to explore, sadly they are overdoing it and that makes it boring too.
@bladorac Its not lazyness its appealing to more action oriented audiance. The standard gamer doesnt want to explor they want to finish the game. When people talk about open game play they mean you can do what you want but any story base game will always be linier, you can avoid it. You like side quest but the avage gamer doesnt, keep in mind the avage gamer doesnt care and is impressed by graphics and story. One of the big complaints for FF9 was there were to many Side Quest.
@FallenSnowWolf I do agree there can be too many side quest but a good thing about RPG's were the exploration and now there's none. I don't mind the action base RPG (there are some that are fun) but what I don't like how FF just became another one of those games that has nothing special to it, well at least for me. I stopped playing FF after 10. One problem with that you say is if the gamer now a days wants graphics and story they can watch a movie, this is hardly a game from all the cut-scenes.
@bladorac Ya its shity that FF13 realy has nothing to it to keep it going like some of the others. Gaming is changing you cant fight it, people love the movie style. Gaming is not going to go back so people can iether accept it or just continue to play older games. The only plus I can say is "Thank god for the skip option". I like the fact that Capcom decide to go back to the 8-bit style for Megaman but I dont think it would work for FF(Maybe if the make sequels to the classic ones).
@FallenSnowWolf FF doesn't really have to go all the way back to it's roots but something I used to love about FF is having characters that filled just one role, not give all roles to all characters. Also you got me real good, I'm one of the people who still play old games (GOG FTW), I'm not fighting it but something that I have notice is how a big percentage of those new gamers who like graphics and long movies, if they give it a try, they end up liking old games, check the GOG forums.
Most of the cars with the button to start have a key card so that the doors won't open and the engine wont start unless you are in a certain range of the car.
What I've heard is that the car will only start with the button if the key is within a certain proximity. There are also cars where you put in the key (not turn it) then hit the button.
The sunleth waterscape is a nature reserve I believe. I think it said it in it's datalog file. On my last playthrough I accidently forgot to remove Hope and Light's equipment here and ended up having trouble with a certain airborne enemy if you know who I mean. Poison is godly for the second half of this chapter too bad you don't have it for the next chapter.
Wait, can you unequip characters out of party when you switch? Do you need to do that beforehand+ Or have you several updated black belts and power wristbands?
Hmm, would it be possible to get a list of equipment you've maxed out at the moment? It's kinda hard to keep track with all the switching :P
@13:00~ I believe that part of Cocoon would be for oxygen production? I assume there'd be more places similar to it, but the Whitewood, for example, is all prosthetic and used for bioweapon engineering and testing. That place is all organic and natural, and apparently near-ish to the commercialized awesomeness that is Palompolom--a place I assume would need clear air to offset pollution. Just my two cents.
@HCBailly I used to be heavily into the pokemon "scene," as it were. I would think you would like the pokemon gameboy games, though, with how much strategy and planning seems to be your thing. The newest Penny Arcade posting by Tycho rather eloquently explains how I feel about it, actually.
HCBailly, I'm pretty sure that the keys need to be inside the car if you have a push button. Therefore, you would still need the keys to start the car.
Regarding pushing a button to start the car, I've used one where instead of a key you have a key chain that sends out a signel to car to allow it to start. If the "key" is moved far enough from the car it will automatically lock and refuse to start.
HCBailly, I feel like I should point you into the direction of the "Main Character Rule":
No matter how far the fall, no matter how many bullets to the face, no matter how much blood is lost, the main character will still be standing, breathing, and alive.
The idea is still the same: you need keys to get inside and start the car. Most recently, they have a feature where the key (which is basically a remote control to open and close the car) has to be present somewhere inside the car where it can sense it in order to start the ignition. This means that if you leave the keys in your pocket and get into the car, you can start it. But you still need the key (remote) to open the doors to the car. And if a window is smashed the system locks up.
Back when I worked for Enterprise Car Rental, I got to drive a number of vehicles (including a Hummer!). The NIssan Altima and Toyota Prius had the push-button start, but they wouldn't start if you hadn't unlocked the door with the remote key and then put that into a slot near the steering column. It was about 2" long and long-oval shaped, and it latched into the slot snugly so that it wouldn't just pop back out.
Umm, nautilus as a submarine is not a FF3 reference. It's a reference to Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. It's a book, by Jules Verne if I remember correct
the music for the Sunleth Waterscape is one of my favorite in the game, Only beaten by Chocobos of Cocoon - Chasing Dreams but only a little.
But i'm sad to say this but FFXIII ost just isn't that good, To Many Changes from one area to the next means you'd have to stop to really listen and with no going back to old areas, means you don't feel connected to it.
My Favorite overall is still FFVIII, with the best balance of Soft and Strong Emotions just made it great. I like XIII just not the OST
HCBaily, Those cars that have the 'push to start' you need to have the key in your pocket or nearby for it to start. If you don't have the key it won't start. Heck, your doors won't even open.
...okay, never saw TWEWY but do you think the same about Kingdom Hearts? I always find myself agreeing with you with Final Fantasy in general and I loved KH so honestly, I am a bit worried on that. .w.
0:54 - Wait, wasn't Lightning the one who told Hope that he shouldn't let his feelings get in the way of the mission? Doesn't that also apply to stopping to visit your dad when THE WHOLE WORLD IS TRYING TO KILL YOU?!
you see the main character status grants immunity to large falls and crashes unless their contract says otherwise, Mario is so heavily exploited this way, one little fall down a bottomless pit and hes gone, they did give him the life policy though he has that
i find it kinda odd, that you can MAKE a computer without having an idea how it works O.o i would've thought you would need knowledge on which part does what :O
@kasanuatori65 Well, the thing is, computers are really just made up of pre-made parts that are compatible with each other. All the original parts, like the motherboard, processor, RAM, etc. probably can only be made with complex machines. Designing the parts would require a lot more knowledge of the computer hardware, no question.
Ah, the Sunleth Waterscape. That's my favorite place. :3

oh I just love this song! the Sunleth Waterscape has just the most perfect music for the area
wolfgirl535 11 months ago
HCBailly, Is there a reason you mostly use the Crystarium at save points, or is that just your way of spacing it out?
puwexil608 11 months ago
Hoverbikes don't work on water...unless you got POWAH!
yevonator88 11 months ago
Regarding pushing a button to start the car, I've used one where instead of a key you have a key chain that sends out a signel to car to allow it to start. If the "key" is moved far enough from the car it will automatically lock and refuse to start.
Kooma9 11 months ago
Palumpolum?
That's nearly a reference to some twins, FFXIII.
Ahmenthi 11 months ago
HCBailly, I feel like I should point you into the direction of the "Main Character Rule":
No matter how far the fall, no matter how many bullets to the face, no matter how much blood is lost, the main character will still be standing, breathing, and alive.
This game relies heavily on it.

What is with the blurry line at the bottom of the video?

2:09 - sounds like you were about to do a quote from "Back to the Future"...like "Hey McFly, Those [hoverboards] don't work on water" lol
lilmizweasley 11 months ago
with the cars, most of them have a unique magnetic chip in the key that you have to press against the button before it will let you start the car
fredark2 11 months ago

Darthobnoxious2 11 months ago
the car question you had. it is not easy to steal the car cuz the keys have to be close to the car i am pretty sure to work, kinda pointless but

HC, you seem to be like, 20+ in age, yet you don't act like it. Lol. I'm glad to watch your videos.

the music for the Sunleth Waterscape is one of my favorite in the game, Only beaten by Chocobos of Cocoon - Chasing Dreams but only a little.

0:54 - Wait, wasn't Lightning the one who told Hope that he shouldn't let his feelings get in the way of the mission? Doesn't that also apply to stopping to visit your dad when THE WHOLE WORLD IS TRYING TO KILL YOU?!
AdamX222 11 months ago
you see the main character status grants immunity to large falls and crashes unless their contract says otherwise, Mario is so heavily exploited this way, one little fall down a bottomless pit and hes gone, they did give him the life policy though he has that

i find it kinda odd, that you can MAKE a computer without having an idea how it works O.o i would've thought you would need knowledge on which part does what :O
kasanuatori65 11 months ago
@kasanuatori65 Well, the thing is, computers are really just made up of pre-made parts that are compatible with each other. All the original parts, like the motherboard, processor, RAM, etc. probably can only be made with complex machines. Designing the parts would require a lot more knowledge of the computer hardware, no question.
