@just4me141 Actually an 07 Civic SI weighs a similar mount to a 3rd generation eclipse gt. And my eclipse gt manages around 30mpg on the highway. I will admit the K series has more potential than the older 6g72 mitsubishi motor. Im not sure as far as the 6g75 4th gen v6 motor goes though.
How so, when a stock GTS vs a stock GS-T is a drivers race. Good for low 15's. I love the Turbo setup, but I can highly appreciate a nice torque curve too.
Regardless..the eclipse GT is still fast..I was the the eastcoast tuner showdown at ATCO NJ...Raced quite a few SIs and beat all of them. 15.3 fastest time, just an intake and running Premium. SI's are fast too but more often than not the GT overtakes the SI. Still, they are both sexy cars.

see eclipses arent bad power wise, but the curb weight is INSANE. to make them competitive you either have to go crazy in the engine compartment and/ or get a carbon hood, carbon hatch, body kit, etc.

Dual cams take longer to get to high RPM's... Due to the fact that there is more reciprecating mass/ weight to get moving. A SOHC will rev far faster, but once the DOHC gets the R's up it will have more power, and a higher RPM peak. Either way this is a very slow, gay waste of time. 3rd gen eclipses/sebring/stratus coupes are fagboy toys, and civics are just plain slow ecoboxes.
everybody take into account the eclipse is stock and an automatic the standard trans 3g gt or gts will pwn an automatic of the same caliber so this isnt a fair view of all gt's and eclipses in general
im a big 3g fan i own a 03 eclipse gts myself. the most ive ever seen done to the 3gs beside a supercharger *sighs* is a cold air intake. you can get a turbo for the v6 model 3gs but u are ganna have to pay a good bit to have a kit made. personaly i think spending a little extra on a turbo is way better than blowin 5k on a ripp mods supercharger

sorry that was not an SI. You can add a body kit but its still not an si. A true SI is about a full second quicker than the eclipse.

see eclipses arent bad power wise, but the curb weight is INSANE. to make them competitive you either have to go crazy in the engine compartment and/ or get a carbon hood, carbon hatch, body kit, etc.

Dual cams take longer to get to high RPM's... Due to the fact that there is more reciprecating mass/ weight to get moving. A SOHC will rev far faster, but once the DOHC gets the R's up it will have more power, and a higher RPM peak. Either way this is a very slow, gay waste of time. 3rd gen eclipses/sebring/stratus coupes are fagboy toys, and civics are just plain slow ecoboxes.

everybody take into account the eclipse is stock and an automatic the standard trans 3g gt or gts will pwn an automatic of the same caliber so this isnt a fair view of all gt's and eclipses in general

im a big 3g fan i own a 03 eclipse gts myself. the most ive ever seen done to the 3gs beside a supercharger *sighs* is a cold air intake. you can get a turbo for the v6 model 3gs but u are ganna have to pay a good bit to have a kit made. personaly i think spending a little extra on a turbo is way better than blowin 5k on a ripp mods supercharger

The Civic is popular because its relatively affordable, reliable, and easily modified. They're not supercars by any means, although some people tend to forget that... Either way they're still good cars, maybe not for racing (lol)

@xxstaggerxx Dude, new SI is 27k, for this money you could get a couple years old car with V8, but you will never get that fun that you have with civics... btw, there are tons of other cars that are also riced out and go as fast as Civic, just people talk about civics and honda, well I guess it's a good sign, means everyone here was smoked by a civic at least once :D
